What is the definition of the term Hero?
A hero is a person of distinguished courage or
ability, admired for their brave deeds and noble
qualities. A person who, in the opinion of others, has
heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is
regarded as a model or ideal.
What are the characteristics of being a hero?
 Actions that are done in service of others who
are in need, whether it is for an individual, a
group or community.
 Actions that are performed voluntarily
 The individual recognizes the potential risk or
sacrifice they are making by taking these
actions.
 The heroic individual willing to accepts the
anticipated sacrifices they are making.
 They engage in these action without any
expectation of reward or external gain.

According to researches, empathy, and compassion for
others are key variables that contribute to heroic
behavior. People who rush in to help others in the face
of danger and adversity do so because they genuinely
care about the safety and well-being of other people.
