Guidelines: A farming co-operative has come together to promote a weekly farmers’ market. The co-
operative wants to encourage patrons to support the events under the theme “Buy Local”.
An underlying sub-theme of the campaign is knowing where the food comes from. This
will involve:

• Identifying the target audience


• Creating a digital media product using the creative process
• Selecting ONE of the following digital media formats when creating your digital
product

– Poster (24 × 36 inches and 150 dpi)


– Video

Audience: Adults, Families or Purchasing Managers

TASK

Guidelines: The Seawall Cafe is a small restaurant that wants to attract some of the tourists who
frequent the area in which it is located. To achieve this goal, Seawall Cafe is rebranding
and updating their website. The logo (provided in the kit) has already been updated but the
current website does not match the new brand. You have been asked to work on refreshing
the website and proposing a mobile application. The scope of this project involves the
following:

• A home page design with an introductory video

– High fidelity mockup of the home page for a website that will promote the
restaurant (the home page should have ONE layout)
– A short video introducing the restaurant

To get an idea of the preferred ‘feel’, samples of the decor identified for the interior
decoration have been included. You will also find the logo and other appropriate media
in the kit provided.

The advertisement is to be aired on television. You have been given the media assets for
the project and tasked with completing the advertisement.

Theme: Advertising

Audience: Your target group: Teenagers aged 13–19 years.

1. (a) The mind map provided explores the relationship between the target audience and the

Guidelines: You are part of a team commissioned to develop a regional sports information service. The
system provides news feeds organized by sport. Users can choose to follow the feeds of
their favourite athletes or simply be alerted to interesting features based on their interest.
You will be required to complete aspects of this project including:

• Layout of a website home page


• Layout of a mobile app home screen
• A website structure

You have been provided with the logo for the service, a UI toolkit and current project files
(photos, incomplete website structure, copy) which can be used for creating mockups. For
your reference, we have included screenshots of similar applications and websites (these are
strictly for inspiration. It is not acceptable to directly copy the ideas from these samples).

Theme: Sports Information Service

Audience: Sport Fans

1. (a) Assuming that the audience is primarily Caribbean, would you recommend a web application
or a mobile application? Discuss the reasons for your selection. [3 marks]

You have been provided with an incomplete representation of the website structure (sitemap)
of the proposed website. Extend the sitemap to account for FOUR other nodes.

ClubCookDiFood.net is the proposed name for a recipe website. The site will provide simple guides
for preparation of all sorts of Caribbean Cuisine. In preparation for launch, they have gathered a
growing collection of recipes. They would like to "tease" future site users with a video that captures
the essences of what they do. The overall project will involve the following:

● A high fidelity mockup of the recipe page for a website that will promote the
ClubCookDiFood.net recipe website.
● A short video introducing the ClubCookDiFood.net website
● A high fidelity mockup of mobile application that will showcase the ClubCookDiFood.net recipes

You have been provided with:

● Samples of elements (pictures, patterns and colours) that they considered inspirational. These
will help to guide your choices when designing the site.
● A logo that was designed for ClubCookDiFood.net
● Additional media which you may use in your work
