Direct Speech – original words of person are narrated and are enclosed
in a quotation mark e.g. Thomas said, “I will call you tomorrow.”
Indirect Speech – original words of person are reported observing some
changes and are not enclosed in a quotation mark
e.g. Thomas said that he would call me the next day.

- Have the students generalize the topic by starting their answers with, “Today, I have learned that …..

- Group the students into five groups
- Have the students write their own direct and indirect speech.
- Let the students deliver their work through a “News Report”.
