This is the cognitive model.


It is helpful to show this
image to students before
using CBT techniques. The
model goes as follows:
An event triggers the beginning of
the cycle. The event then triggers
an automatic thought -->
Emotional response --> Behavior -->
More thoughts --> Cycle repeats

CBT presupposes metacognition.
