John D. O’Bryant School
The John D. O’Bryant campus, constructed using Marcel Breuer’s brutalistic tactics, is a strong symmetric con-
crete rythmed facade. In a misison to enclose and secure the campus an indoor/outdoor circulation passage along
a pre-existing axis was formed. The axis is a flexible space between idoor collaborative spaces and revitalized
outdoor spaces. The intervention helps students navigate the overcrowded hallways and make use existing gardens.

Phase 3: The Building
The semester long project was to create an Environmental Education Center, which would be located in a place of
our choosing on the Chestnut Hill Reservoir site in Boston, MA. The concept I am working with for the project
is briding the elements of heavy and light.

Super Performance Cube
The project given was to create a perfor-
mance space in a park. The Children’s Wharf
next to the Boston Children’s Museum was our
given site. The site had its own pathways
and trees in the area, along with water run-
ning near it. Students were allowed to de-
cide where their space would be place. There
was a list of requirement that had to be in
the design. For my design, I wanted to focus
on the idea of functionality. Thus, I de-
signed both sides of my stage. On one side,
is the stage, with a large overhang and high
space between the roof and wall. On the oth-
er side are two sets of large stairs, which
are available for people to sit on as they
pass through. Under the stage, there is a
stair case that brings you down underground
to a storage and changing area.
