Work-from-Home User Guide

1. Office PC Remote Access:

Office PC Remote Access facility is to be required for access to softwares such as Engineering
Softwares e.g. AutoCAD, Staad, 3D Modeling, Caesar, PVElite etc.

a) Pre-requisites:
i. Ensure Good Broadband Internet Connection. Avoid Public hot-spots or Open Wi-Fi.
ii. Ensure strong password / WPA2 for broadband router at home.
iii. Ensure Anti-Virus Software on Home PC/Laptop (AV software to be updated to latest
version).
iv. Ensure your Office Desktop is switched on and remote access is enabled.

b) Procedure for the Remote Access is attached at Annexure-I.

c) Points to be noted for Office PC Remote Access

i. Ensure EIL Acceptable Use Policy is followed at all times. User shall be responsible
for compliance.
ii. Home PC / Laptop is to be used with due care. USB shall not be used for any data
transfer.
iii. Office PC should be properly shut-down when the work is over. This is required to
ensure any improper shut-down which may lead to hard-disk crash and data-loss.
iv. Once connected to the Office network, the general Internet browsing on the Home
PC/Laptop will not be available.
v. The performance will be largely dependent on the Internet-connectivity at the user-
end i.e. broadband or datacard.
 Annexure –I Procedure for the Remote Access

This document is for Windows 7, 8 & 10 laptops with Windows Prof. Before connecting to
the Office network kindly ensure pre-requisites mentioned above.

Steps

1. Download Forticlient through FTP Server: ftp://125.22.115.77. Click on Software folder

and then copy Forticlient software on your machine. User shall download Forticlient
software according to its Operating System version. The username and password for
accessing the folder is eildc\empno and password is timesheet password/ domain
password.
2. After downloading run .exe file to install the Forti-client.

Double click on the setup file, it will start downloading.

For Windows 7 Prof, if it asks for Security patch KB3033929, then user need to copy and
install the patch Windows6.1-KB3033929-x64 available on Software folder.

Accept the license agreement and click on next.

 Again click the next for “ secure remote access"

Choose the location to download the setup and click next.

Click finish, to complete the installation.

 3. Configuration of Forti-Client Software
After finishing the installation, a Forti-client tool will appear on your P.C/Laptop Home
Screen (Desktop Screen).

Double click on that Forticlient icon. Go to the Remote Access option and then click “configure
VPN”

Then Configure the VPN as shown in the below screenshot.

 Customize Port  4434 and then click save. Sometimes customize port doesn’t gets
changed , in that case kindly make sure by going into connection Settings as shown
below.
If it’s doesn’t get changed, change it again by clicking edit the selected connection.
 And then click save again.

4. Access to Remote Desktop

Once configured the user can use the Forticlient Software to access Remote Access.
In VPN name select EIL SSL VPN,

Username  Time sheet User Name

Password  Time sheet Password and then click connect.

After that User/Client will get connected to EIL HO LAN.

To access their office-PC, Pl. ensure that Office-PC is Switched ON and Remote Desktop Services
are enabled. Right Click on My Computer or This PC and select properties. Select remote settings
and click on Allow Remote connections to this computer.

To Access Office PC remotely from your Laptops/Home-PC

a) Press Windows Key + R

b) On Run Windows type mstsc

A Remote Desktop Window will appear. User shall put their PC IP address to access his
Office PC.
