BAX® System Protocol – 6 Easy Steps
1. Enrich Samples
Homogenize samples w ith enrichment
media and incubate at the appropriate
time and temperature.
4. Hydrate PCR Tablets
Place PCR tubes in the cooling block.
Transfer 50 μL sample lysate to each
PCR tube and seal w ith flat optical
caps.
Tap tubes gently to remove air bubbles.

2. Prepare Lysis Reagent
From the BAX® System kit, add 150 µL
protease to a 12 mL bottle of lysis buffer.
Cap the bottle and invert gently to mix.
5. Complete Process Run
Load PCR tubes into the pre-heated
instrument and close the lid to start
processing.
Automated amplification and detection is
complete in about 3.5 hours.
3. Perform Sample Lysis
Add 200 µL lysis reagent and 5 µL
enriched sample to cluster tubes.
Place cluster tubes on the DuPont™
Thermal Block and run the Gram Negative
program.
Automated lysis is complete in about 1 hour.
Samples are held at 4°C.
6. Review Results
BAX® System results are displayed as
clear “yes” or “no” icons.
Each w ell icon has a symbol in the center
to illustrate the result.
