INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of Study
Most of the eateries and restaurants available today only make provisions for their
customers that are physically present. They do not offer services for people too busy or far from
their locations to assist them in enjoying the same meals at their own comfort. For the project, I
propose the development of a food ordering system which provides user with an easy approach
to order for their meals, taking into account various constraints like appointment times, meal
schedule, delivery time, price, location and distances. So now the customer’s don’t have to freeze
their starving when they are not in the condition to cook. Immediately they can order food
online from the best online food ordering apps – that not only satisfy their cravings but, also
deliver them with the quality of food they ask for. Online food ordering system can work
wonders for both the food business and the consumers. While it helps the food business to
accelerate their sale, stay connected with consumers, retain existing consumers and find new
ones, it also provides consumers with an easy food delivery at their doorstep, gives them access
to the entire menu card, allows them to explore a whole new range of food items and saves them
from the hassle of waiting in queues or obtaining reservations.

The aim and objective of this study are:
 To provide an easy to use system that acts an ecommerce store for meals providing users
with a variety of meals irrespective of location
 Provide access to order for food anytime and anywhere without
 Boosts your food sales
 Time Saving which relates in many situations either for the job holders or people who
can’t make something due to other works
 Multiple options to choose from the list as per your mood
 You are also able to find the tracking system to find in how much time you will get the
order
1.4 Significance of Study
The significance of this study is to serve better than the existing system enhance
database and prove effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy of the system. Also to give
appropriate attention and quick access to prospective application. It is also intended that
the study will assist in the development of a new and hopefully better computer aided
system.

1.5 Scope of the Study


The research work is restricted to online food ordering system that can take place in
restaurants, eateries etc. The process involves an individual ordering for food online if
the restaurant and food meets up to standard.
1.5.1 Target Audience
 Busy Parents – Both working and stay at home parents need to juggle
various activities throughout the day, like work, children’s activities,
groceries, gym, etc.
 Students – In addition to school schedule, students also have to manage
their extracurricular activities, work, social life, etc.
 Owners of Restaurants and eateries – Running a restaurant/eatery requires
diligence and takes much of their time.
1.5.2 Value Proposition
This application fills the need of having to order for your meals and optimizes
your schedule so that you can be more productive by focusing on the tasks at hand
and not be burdened with the details of cooking, looking for food or worrying
about what to eat. The absence of any online food ordering system in the market
will put the application in a unique position.
