Case Study: Population and Conflict

Instructions: The 19th-21st centuries saw rise of many conflicts and events that resulted in temporary or
permanent changes in the lives of the people (ex. migration). In a group of 2-3, examine the following
criteria of your assigned case/event. Do the research of these criteria about your case, and present what
you have found in a poster.

Criteria: Please include the following criteria in your final product

1. Brief history (causes, key events, key people)


2. Consequences of the event (any casualties, policy changes, cultural changes, migration, etc)
○ If there is more than one party involved, consider the consequences for both parties
(ex. WWI; consider the consequences for both Central Powers and The Allies)
3. Lesson (how can the outcome be applied in today’s society; going forward, what can be done to
remedy, what should’ve been the international community’s reaction)
4. Visual evidence (photos/pictures)

- Late assignments will be penalized 5% per day, and your parents will be notified if the
assignment is not submitted 2 days after the deadline.
- Students guilty of any form of Academic Dishonesty (Plagiarism, Cheating, etc,) will result in a
grade of Zero on the assessment and will be subject to both classroom and school disciplinary
sanctions.
