But, outside their Spanish class, Edward was waiting for Bella so

Jessica bid her goodbye to the two. Both, Edward and Bella walked
to the cafeteria, and as they stepped up the line to the counter,
Edward filled up a tray with food and paid the bills. He then led Bella
to the same place where they sat one time before, as group of
people are gazing at them with amusement.

Being curious, Bella asked Edward as to what would he do if

someone dared him to eat food and Edward answered her by eating
a piece of pizza as he asked her, “If someone dared you to eat dirt,
you could, couldn’t you?” where Bella admitted that she did it once
because of a dare.

However, Bella mentioned Jessica’s name to their conversation and

as soon Edward heard this name there was a hint of irritation
registered in his face as he asked questions regarding Bella and
Jessica’s conversation earlier about what happened last night
between him and Bella. And in their conversation, something about
what Bella told Jessica bothers Edward but, he refused to be
distracted.

“I’m not surprised you heard something you didn’t like. You know
what they say about eavesdroppers,” Bella reminded him.

“I warned you I would be listening,” he replied.

And, after some discussions, Edward asked Bella if she truly believe
that she cared for Edward more than Edward cared for her and the
latter answered “yes, I really think that” as she looked down the
table where Edward refuted her by telling her in a voice velvet soft,
“you’re wrong.”

After some arguments as to who cared the most between both of

them, Bella told Edward that aside from the obvious, she sometimes
feel like he was bidding her goodbye when he says something else.
This was refuted again by Edward by whispering “perceptive”, and
their conversation continued about what “the obvious” means until
Bella reminded him of their original argument and pointed out to
him that she was not saying goodbye and that she was right.
However, Edward shook his head and said "if leaving is the right
thing to do, then I'll hurt myself to keep from hurting you, to keep
you safe."

Their argumentation continued until Edward opened up a new

question regarding Bella going to Seattle this coming Saturday or
whether it was just an excuse to reject her admirers and that Bella
hadn’t yet forgiven him about the Tyler thing. And as their
conversation continued, Edward volunteered in accompanying her
with a different activity and destination to go to and suggested Bella
to tell Charlie where she is heading to and who’s her companion is in
order for him to take her home safely.

Their conversation still continued about why Edward was on the

Goat Rocks place which is not a place to hike because of bears. Well,
Edward was there for bears because Grizzly is Emmett’s favorite.
And, his was a mountain lion.

Their conversation continued whether Bella might get to see Edward

hunting which he greatly opposes and inviting her to take her out
this evening because she needs a dose of fear which he believe is
beneficial for her. However, their conversation ended when Edward
stood up and told Bella, “Later, we’re going to be late.” She then
answered, “Later, then” in agreement.
