This form is to be completed as part of Queensland Urban Utilities’ Self-Assessment Referral process, which permits licensed building certifiers and
registered professional engineers (RPEQ certified) to self-assess building works in accordance with Queensland Urban Utilities’ Alternative Solutions
Guideline. The guideline is available on our website and sets out alternative solutions to the acceptable solutions within QDC MP1.4 for work considered
by Queensland Urban Utilities to be low risk to water and sewerage infrastructure.
All Self-Assessment Referrals will receive a response from Queensland Urban Utilities. Certifiers cannot issue a building approval without Queensland
Urban Utilities’ response to the self-assessment.

PART B – Alternative solution assessment


How to complete Part B:
1. Refer to QDC MP1.4 and Queensland Urban Utilities’ Alternative Solutions Guideline at www.urbanutilities.com.au/buildoverasset
2. This assessment must be completed by a licensed building certifier or RPEQ engineer.
3. For each alternative solution, the assessor must tick either “MET” or “N/A”.
4. If the solutions are not met, the referral may not proceed as a self-assessment and further Queensland Urban Utilities assessment will be required
(with relevant fee).
