NOTICE
Handling and Storage of Elevator Equipment
The handling and storage of elevator equipment requires special attention in order to
prevent any damage and the warranty from becoming void.
Take the following precautions:
Make sure that a clean, dry and protected area is available for storage. Under no
circumstances must elevator equipment be stored outside.
Keep all parts and components within their packaging until the immediate time of
installation.
In case unwrapping of a part or component is necessary, for example for moving or
lifting, rewrap the component carefully afterwards unless installation is imminent.

Summary For installation of a Varidor 30AP landing door, all the relevant dimensions of the hoistway
have to be checked first.
The required hoistway dimensions for LDU jamb or control cabinet on the right of the
landing door can be mirrored for LDU jamb or control cabinet on the left of the landing door.

For all anchor bolt installations described in this document, follow the installation
procedure described in this section.

4000 Drill a hole using the drill bit (1).
4001 Use a blowing tool (2) to blow dust and fragment out of the drilled hole.
4002 Insert the anchor bolt (3) into the hole using a hammer (4).
4003 Fasten the anchor bolt (3) using the torque wrench (5).

4.2.1 * Pre-Assembly of Door Frame
LDU jamb or control cabinet can be configured on both sides of the door frame. In this
section, LDU jamb or control cabinet on the left of the door frame is taken as an
example.
For pre-assembly of the door frame with LDU jamb or control cabinet on the right, mirror
the figures of the following installation procedure.
C2 Door Frame

4004 Engage the fixing angles (1) on top of the jambs (3), bend fastening lugs (8).
4005 Install and secure the frame header (5) to both jambs using four M10x20 bolts (4)
and cage nuts (2), tighten by hand only.
4006 Engage the protection plate (6) onto the jambs (3), bend fastening lugs (7) on
both sides.

C2R Door Frame
4008 Install both fixing angles (7 and 10) and jambs (5) to frame header (9) using four
M8x20 bolts (8) and cage nut (6), tighten by hand only.
4009 Engage both jambs (5) in the sill support (3), insert two plates (2) into cutouts of
both (5).
4010 Fasten both inserting plates (2) to sill support (3) using two M6x20 bolts (1) and
M6 rivet nut (4), tighten by hand only.
4011 IMPORTANT: The protection plate (11) will be assembled during the installation
of the mechanical transom. See more detailed information in "Mechanical
Transom Installation".

4012 Install both fixing angles (7 and 10) and jambs (6) on the frame header (9) using

4013 Engage both jambs (6) in the sill support (3). Insert two plates (2) into cutouts of

4014 Fasten both inserting plates (2) to the sill support (3) using two hex rip flange
bolts M8x20 (1) and M8 rivet nuts (5), tighten by hand only.
4015 Install two cage nuts (4) on the sill support (3) for toe guard installation.
4016 IMPORTANT: The protection plate (11) will be assembled during the installation
of the mechanical transom. See more detailed information in "Mechanical
Transom Installation".

4024 Wrap the LDU cable bundle (1) with the superwool 607 HT paper (2).
LDU Cable
Bundle The superwool 607 HT paper size is 200x400 mm.
Make sure to use the short edge of the paper to wrap the LDU cable bundle.
4025 Wrap the Sealbifire (3) around the superwool 607 HT paper (2) so that the
Sealbifire (3) blocks the cutout for the LDU cables.

4.2.2 Sill Support
Sill Support
Installation No Step
4026 Align and fasten the sill support (4) to the hoistway wall (7) using the three M12
anchor bolts (1) according to the instruction J 45300397. Tighten by hand only.
Make sure that the distance between the anchor bolt midline and finished
floor level mark (8) is 160 mm.
4027 Align and fasten the sill angle (5) to the sill support (4) using three M12x35
bolts (6), RIP washers (3) and nut (2), tighten by hand only.
4028 Align the sill angle (5) and tighten all M12 bolts (6).
Make sure that the distance between sill angle (5) and the 1000 mm finished
floor level mark (9) is 1035 mm.
4029 Align and level the sill support (4) and tighten all anchor bolts (1) by torque
spanner with the torque no less than 50 Nm.
4030 Repeat the previous steps on each floor.

4031 Fasten the three support angles (2) to the hoistway wall (3) using the three M12
Support Angle
anchor bolts (1) according to the instruction J 45300397. Tighten by hand only.
Make sure that the distance between the anchor bolt horizontal midline and
the finished floor level (5) is 141 mm.
The vertical midline of the middle anchor bolt (1) should be in the landing door
center line (4).
The distance between the anchor bolts should correspond with the G value.
Refer to below table for the detailed G value.
4032 Align the three support angles (2) and tighten all M12 anchor bolts (1).
Make sure that the distance between the support angle surface and the
finished floor level (5) is 62 mm.

4035 Position the door frame (2) onto the support angle (3).
Frame
4036 Insert the three thread fixation plates (4) into the C rail (1).
4037 Screw the three M12x35 bolts with RIP washers (5) to the support angels (3) and
the thread fixation plates (4). Tighten by hand only.
4038 Adjust the position of the door frame (2) in the two directions as shown in the
figure below.
Make sure that the distance A between the front plane of the door frame (2)
and the hoistway wall (7) is TSW - 1.5.
Make sure that the two cage nut cutouts (8) are aligned with the plumb
lines (6).
4039 Tighten all bolts on the three support angles (3) after alignment.

4040 If door frame 50x50, position the protection plate (6) upon the door header (7).

Before positioning the door panel (3), make sure to check if the guide shoes (1) are
preassembled as shown in paragraph "Orientation of Guide Shoes". Adjust the guide shoe
orientation if they are wrongly preassembled.

4063 Preassemble the door panels (6) to the carriers (1) using the M10 nuts (4 and 5)
Adjustment and

The RIP washers (3) and M10 nuts (5) are only used to install the middle hole
of the door panel when BT >= 1000 mm.

4.2.8 Counterweight
Counterweight
Guide No Step
4075 Position the counterweight guide (4) at the side of the landing door.
4076 Fasten the head of the angle iron counterweight guide (4) on the transom end
plate (5) using the M8x20 hex rib. flange bolt (3) and the hex serrated flange M8
nut (6).
4077 Insert the M8x20 T-head bolt (1) into the hole of the counterweight support (2),
insert the counterweight support (2) with the M8x20 T-head bolt into the door sill
profile (7).
4078 Fasten the counterweight support (2) on the door sill profile (7) using the M8x20
T-head bolt (1) and the hex serrated flange M8 nut (6).
4079 Fasten the foot of the counterweight guide (4) on the counterweight support (2)
using the M8x20 hex rib. flange bolt (3) and the hex serrated flange M8 nut (6).

Counterweight
4080 Put the counterweight (1) in position.
4081 Secure the steel rope of the counterweight (3) in the appropriate hole on the
door carrier (4) so that the counterweight (1) can run smoothly in the
counterweight guide (2) during door opening and closing.
4082 Adjust the fixation point of the steel rope of the counterweight (3) and make the
counterweight (1) not collide with the counterweight guide (2).

4.2.12 LDU Cover
The LDU cover is already assembled on the LDU box when the LDU unit is delivered to the
field. It is necessary to disassemble the LDU cover from the LDU box before testing or
checking its electrical components.

Disassembly and
Installation 4104 Unlock the LDU cover (3) with the key (1) in clockwise direction.
IMPORTANT: Use the key (1) only to unlock the LDU cover (3). Do not use
the key as a handle to lift the LDU cover.
4105 Lift the LDU cover (3) vertically so that it detaches itself from the LDU box (4).
4106 Remove the protection foil from all the overlapping areas.
4107 Tilt the LDU cover (3) and lean it against the upper corner of the LDU box (4).
4108 Push the lower part of the LDU cover (3) toward the LDU box (4) and hitch the
LDU cover (3) on the LDU box slot (2).
4109 Push the LDU cover (3) down and make the LDU cover (3) self-lock on the LDU
box (4).
4110 Stick the electrical safety label (5) onto the LDU cover (3) as shown in the figure
below.

4111 Fasten the jamb fixation plate (6, 13, or 14) to the control cabinet (10) using the
M6x12 bolts (1) and washers (2).
4112 Install the up fixation angle (8) onto the control cabinet, using M6x16 bolt (7),
tighten by hand only.
4113 Position the control cabinet (10) between the jamb (4) and the wall.
4114 Fasten the control cabinet (10) to the jamb (4) using M6x20 bolts (5) or tap
screws (3).
4115 Fasten the lateral fixation (11) to the control cabinet (10) u sing tap screws (3).
4116 Align and fasten the control cabinet (10) to the wall using the anchor bolts (9 and
12) according to the instruction: J 45300397.
