SUMMARY

Education is an important phase in life especially the tertiary education which

dictates the profession that an individual will pursue in the future. It is the stage

wherein an individual is trained and educated for the purpose of the enhancement of

their knowledge and skills. One of the trainings that a student undergoes in school is

the student internship program which is a chance to apply through job exposure the

knowledge and skills learned in school. Network of connection would also be

established which could give additional opportunities to for the future employment of

the trainee. Furthermore, internship programs could help developed work conducts

for the development of professionalism.

Host training establishment (HTE) is a place where internship was

accomplished which is an entity, institution, or establishment duly authorized by the

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and/or the Security Exchange Commission

(SEC) through a recognized system of training. The trainee held his internship

training at Indang Water District (IWD) which is a government-owned establishment

who manages the waterworks system and the one who supplies running water in the

Municipality of Indang, Cavite. IWD is located at MNM Building, San Gregorio St.,

Poblacion Uno, Indang, Cavite. The internship was accomplished from June 14, 2019

to July 20, 2019.

The apprentice was assigned assigned in the data encoding under the

administrative and finance division. The intern learned how to make a program using

a new software, bootstrap, that was an addition to his knowledge. The intern also

learned how to design programs and was entrusted to do the front-end of the system

that has been working on by the supervisor. Moreover, the intern was assigned to

arrange and scan the files of all the employees, and sorted, moved and renamed

these files by the use of computer. The trainee was able to utilize the scanner,

laminator, and computer for the conduct of the tasks.

The internship training was not smooth as it should be. The trainee

encountered problems such as the feeling of pressure, too much work activities, and

incapability to file overtime for the purpose of accomplishing the assigned tasks.

These were resolved by time management and by the good attitude and cordiality of

the staffs at the workplace. The trainee learned that not all the things were imparted

in school and also an individual must be willing to adapt to their environment and

must be open for learning from other people. This could help a person for the

expansion and enhancement of the skills and knowledge that is possessed by an

individual. Therefore, it is essential for an individual to be nurtured by the

experiences for their improvement.
