Abstract. The article describes the processes of analytical, numerical and computer modeling of
the internal forces in any beam section, depending on the location of the moving load. Such
calculations are quite laborious and are widely used for the calculation of many structures under
the influence of moving loads (beams and trusses of bridge and gantry cranes, road and railway
bridges, etc.). As a result of the study, a complex has been developed: analytical models,
numerical and computer algorithms and programs that allow to effectively determine the internal
forces in any beam section depending on the location of the moving load. The proposed
procedures for modeling internal forces in any cross section of a beam under the action of a
moving load can reduce the time and cost of performing such studies by several orders of
magnitude and effectively conduct the research when the beam parameters change, including the
materials from which the beam will be made.

Introduction
Computer modeling, design and calculation, created to solve various technical and technological
problems, are becoming more common [1-20] and allow to:
 improve the design solutions efficiency, accuracy and objectivity;
 improve the quality and reliability of the products, processes and systems created;
 release the developer from the routine, non-creative activities;
 reduce the labor intensity, time and cost of project development by the magnitude orders;
 reduce the magnitude possible huge losses in the next stages of the product life cycle by several
orders.
The article describes the internal forces computer modeling process in a beam under the action of a
moving load at any point (cross section) for a freely supported beam in the Mathcad system.
Internal forces in the beam under the action of a moving load at any point (cross section) can be
represented in analytical, numerical and graphical forms (in the form of lines of influence). Influence
lines are used to calculate many structures under the moving loads influence (beams and trusses of
bridge and gantry cranes; tower cranes booms; automobile and railway bridges, etc.). The internal forces
modeling makes it possible to determine the most unfavorable load positions, at which the value of the
calculated forces is more than permissible.
The purpose of the study is to create a set of analytical expressions, algorithms and programs for the
internal forces automated calculation in any cross section of the beam. The influence lines computer
modeling process will be considered on a simple beam example.

Summary
As a result of the research the following has been developed:
1. Analytical expressions for determining internal forces in any beam section depending on the unit load
position;
2. Algorithm and software package for automated calculation and representation of influence lines in
any beam section in the Mathcad system from a moving load.
The proposed procedures for modeling the internal forces reduce the time and labor costs for
performing such calculations for at least several times and effectively conduct the research related to the
beam parameters changes.
