This letter serves as a reference for Ms. Amanda Skura. It is an absolute

pleasure to write this letter for Ms. Skura as she has been a student in eight
of my courses in the Education Department at Mount Aloysius College.

Amanda is an exceptional student and serves as a role model for her peers in
the Education Department. I can always count on Amanda to have the
textbook read and have course assignments prepared in advance and with
splendid effort. Amanda is great at asking questions and making connections
between her course work and her experiences in public school classrooms.
Ms. Skura has earned A’s in every course that I was fortunate to have her in.
In addition to her coursework, Amanda has engaged in numerous service-
learning projects and research presentations during her time at Mount
Aloysius College.

As the mathematics and literacy methods professor in the Education

Department, I had the joy of supervising Amanda during her two pre-student
teaching experiences. Amanda’s lessons were challenging, engaging and
developmentally appropriate. She was able to bring the common core
language arts and math content to life and made it meaningful for her
students. I also supervised her teaching of early childhood mathematics,
aesthetic, and multicultural lessons at our child development center on
campus and they were also fabulous.

In addition to her classroom work, Ms. Skura has worked at the Little’s People
Place Child Development Center on the campus of Mount Aloysius College
and at the Children’s Express in Cresson, PA. I believe that both of these
experiences make her uniquely qualified to teach in your school district. In
both of these work experiences, Amanda was able to gain experience with
classroom management, family communication, curriculum development,
lesson planning and implementation, assessment in early childhood
education, developmentally appropriate technology integration, inclusion of
students with exceptionalities, and multicultural education.

In and out of the classroom, Ms. Skura is an outstanding student with

numerous gifts and talents. Based on my four years getting to know
Amanda, I predict that she will be an amazing teacher. As a parent of two
children, I would want Ms. Skura to teach my own children. I give Ms.
Amanda Skura by highest recommendation. If you have any questions
concerning Amana Skura please do not hesitate to contact me at
srutledge@mtaloy.edu.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sara Alexis Rutledge
