ONLINE EXAM RULES AND REGULATIONS

Methods, Procedures and Responsibilities for the Conduct of Final
Examinations.

- Pursuant to note number 988/BGDĐT-GDĐH dated on 23 March 2020 from

Ministry of Education and Training about quality assurance for distance learning during
the Covid-19 pandemic;
- Pursuant to announcement number 591/TB-ĐHKT-KTĐTKT dated on 20 March
2020 from the Dean of University Of Economics HCMC about registration for final
examinations;
- In order to assure the quality of final examinations, International School of
Business (ISB) would like to inform to students the followings:
I. Methods for the Conduct of Final Examinations
1. Online multiple choice questions exam
2. Online long/short essay
3. Online interview
4. Essay with presentation
5. Essay without presentation
Note: Online multiple choice quiz might include questions (MCQ, True/False, Essay
questions)

II. Solutions and Applications for the Conduct of Final Examinations

1. ISB Elearning (Moodle) system to conduct the final examinations will be
combined with Zoom_based exam rooms to check attendance.
2. Students are required to use a desktop/laptop, or a tablet connected to the
Internet, webcam and headphone (with microphone) to attend the exam.
3. Students must log in Zoom-based exam room at least 15 minutes prior to the
exam time for checking in and stay signed in during the exam.
4. Each student will have an account to log in the webpage
http://www.eFinalExam.isb.edu.vn/ to sit the exam (for students) and mark
the papers (for lecturers)
5. Log-in account for students is the account used for the website
http://www.online.isb.edu.vn or (http://www.myisb.isb.edu.vn)
Username: Student ID number
Password: password used to log in the website http://www.online.isb.edu.vn
6. The system will present two exam questions at a time on each page from the

first question to the last one. Backtracking is not allowed; which means once
moving on to the next question by hitting the Next button, it is impossible to
return to the previous one (Back). Therefore, students should be very
cautious when answering each question.
7. Time allotted for quizzes of Method (1) and (2) will be from 60 to 180
minutes.
8. Transparency and honesty should be assured in each online multiple-choice
question test and online essay. The test questions and answers must be
randomly generated, and data in the tests should be varied…to ensure that
each student will have a different exam set.
III. Procedure
1. Online multiple-choice questions exam
- Online testing system will be supported by Examination Department;
- Exam should be conducted as scheduled;
- Students will follow the exam schedule informed by academic staff;
- Students will log in the webpage http://www.eFinalExam.isb.edu.vn/ to check
account and read the exam instructions at least 2 days prior to the exam;
2. Online long/short essay
- Online testing system will be supported by Examination Department;
- Exam should be conducted as scheduled;
- Students will do the online essay as informed by academic staff;
- Students will log in the webpage http://www.eFinalExam.isb.edu.vn/ to check
account and read the exam instructions at least 2 days prior to the exam;
3. Online interview
- Lecturers set up online interviews by online platforms integrated with recording
function (e.g. Zoom);
- All videos recorded must be stored by lecturers.
4. Essay with presentation (individually or in group)
- Lecturers set up online interviews by online platforms integrated with recording
function (e.g. Zoom);
- Essays must be saved in pdf format and submitted on Zoom or Moodle;
- Plagiarism must be checked;
- Both essay and recording files must be stored by lecturers.
5. Essay without presentation (individually)
- Academic staff will collaborate with lecturers for conducting final examinations
(must strictly follow the exam schedule);

- Essays must be saved in pdf format and submitted on Zoom or Moodle;

- Lecturers will store all essays for marking;
- Plagiarism must be checked.
IV. Student responsibilities
1. Proceed with the exam schedule planned by program’s academic
administration team.
2. Log in the webpage http://www.eFinalExam.isb.edu.vn/ to check account and
read the exam instructions before the exams
3. Students must log in the webpage http://www.eFinalExam.isb.edu.vn/ then
click on the link to go to the Zoom-based exam room at least 15 minutes prior
to the exam time for checking attendance and stay signed in during the exam.
4. Make sure of the availability of Internet connection, webcams, headphones
(with micro functions), follow their exam schedule and be present 15 minutes
prior to their exam time to check their computers, Internet connection,
webcams, headphones (with micro functions) and follow the proctor’s
instructions.
5. If students cannot make sure of the availability of these facilities, they are
required to inform their situation to their program Admin Officer 5 working
days in advance so that an exam room will be arranged at ISB campus.
6. Students are required to have their micro and webcam on to enable the
proctor’s interaction and monitoring during the exam time.
7. Any kinds of exam cheating are strongly prohibited. Once detected, students
will receive zero for that course unit and take legal responsibilities to ISB.
8. During the exam time, if there are any incidents occurring due to Internet
connection, students can sign in again and keep doing the exam. The answers
will be automatically saved at the last point of time that students interact on
the system.
9. In the online essay test (essay question only): students have to sit the exam in
the given time. Students must follow the template (online essay template) and
save the test in pdf format before submitting. Students are allowed an extra 15
minutes to complete the submission after the allotted time is up. After this, the
system will close and no submission is accepted. Students must install auto-
saving mode on personal desktop/laptop during the exam time, the system will
only interact at the beginning of the test (to download the test) and at the end
of the test for submission (to get the results). Therefore, students must manage
test file on personal computer, the online platform system will not support this
(e.g. if using Word, Excel…, students have to frequently save the test in case
of power blackout. When done, the file must be saved in pdf format before
being imported to the system).
10. During the exam time, students whose computers, Internet connection,

headphone (with micro functions), and webcam are not able to meet the exam
procedures in exam methods 1,2,3 and 4, for reasons out of students’ reach
will have their exam paused and resit the exam in another form afterwards,
indicated as follows:
+ In exam methods (1) and (2), students must inform their proctors via chat
box and send an email to their program Admin and Examination Department
with Incidence Form No.1 attached within 1 working day after the end of the
exam session. With that in mind, any complaints later on to ISB will not be
considered. The Program Admin is responsible for giving a reply to students
within 3 working days since being informed of the students’ incidence. Exam
will be arranged in another format afterwards and information will be sent to
students.
+ In exam methods (3) and (4), students must inform their lecturers and
proctors via chat box so that solutions can be offered promptly.
V. Exam format conversion
If offline mass exams are allowed at the schedule exam dates, there will be exam
format conversion as follows.
1. Online Multiple choice questions exam will be converted to Multiple choice
questions exam, and students will take exams in mass at ISB campus.
2. Online short-answered exam format will be converted to Short-answered
exam, and students will take exams in mass at ISB campus.
3. Online Q & A exam format will be converted to Q &A, and students will take
exams in mass at ISB campus.
4. Online essays with presentations will be converted Essays with Presentations,
and students will take exams in mass at ISB campus.
5. Essay exams without Presentations will remain unchanged.
