DWT-TW-H-30-175 SD AND
ASSOCIATED DOEDIJNS
HYDRAULICS

Winch Performance
Brake holding force 175 Ton
Pulling force 2nd layer >31 Ton
Pulling speed 2nd layer >11 m/min
Slack line force 2nd layer 7.4 Ton
Slack line speed 2nd layer >38 m/min
For best performance of the DMC / DWT-TW-SAI TW winch, it is concluded that following
parameters should be meet:

Setup for CP winch performance

Measurements to be taken pulling and veering towline on 2 nd layer

• Available hydraulic system flow ≥ 190 l/min.

• Available hydraulic system P at the PTO pumps ≥ 310 Bar.
• Hydraulic system relief pressure 320 Bar.
• Pressure setting ∆P at CP ≥ 255 Bar.
• Boost pressure in return line ≥ 25 Bar.
• Boost flow in return line ≥ 160 l/min.
• Clutch pressure setpoint 160 Bar
• Brake release pressure setpoint 160 Bar

• Check that the hydraulic motor starts always in the slow mode (= big displacement) but
handle in 100% haul or veering position. Try this first with no load at all, and then
increase in steps 5 T, 15T and 25T.  all performed on 2nd towing wire layer.
• Test functionality shifting from high to low speed  Joystick position ≤ 30% control
system forces hydraulic motor into long stroke = high volume displacement. Speed
should reduce significantly.
• Test functionality shifting from high to low speed  start hauling with a line force of 7 T
and build load up to 25 T. Make sure pressure increase to ≥255 Bar and stabilizes for a
period of time.  This is the moment at 255 Bar where motor is able to start shifting
from small to big displacement and visa versa depending of the load. When hydraulic
motor is fully shifted to the big displacement mode it will be noticeable that the
pressure ∆P over the motor will start increasing again when applying more load.
• On the joystick there is a push bottom (inverted rabbit) to force the hydraulic motor in
motor into long stroke = big volume displacement. To be able to switch to the CP mode
the inverted rabbit bottom should be pressed again.
