From the Epistle of Apostle
Paul to Colossians (3:4-11).
Brethren, when Christ who is
our life appears, then you also
will appear with Him in glory.
Therefore put to death your
members which are on the
earth: fornication, uncleanness,
passion, evil desire, and covet-
ousness, which is idolatry. Be-
cause of these things the wrath
of God is coming upon the sons
of disobedience, in which you
yourselves once walked when
you lived in them. But now you
yourselves are to put off all
these: anger, wrath, malice,
blasphemy, filthy language out
of your mouth. Do not lie to
one another, since you have put
off the old man with his deeds,
and have put on the new man
who is renewed in knowledge
according to the image of Him
who created him, where there is
neither Greek nor Jew, circum-
cised nor uncircumcised, bar-
barian, Scythian, slave nor free,
but Christ is all and in all.

Братие, когда явится Христос,
жизнь ваша, тогда и вы яви-
тесь с Ним во славе. Итак,
умертвите земные члены ва-
ши: блуд, нечистоту, страсть,
злую похоть и любостяжание,
которое есть идолослужение,
за которые гнев Божий грядет
на сынов противления, в ко-
торых и вы некогда обраща-
лись, когда жили между ни-
ми. А теперь вы отложите
все: гнев, ярость, злобу, зло-
речие, сквернословие уст ва-
ших; не говорите лжи друг
другу, совлекшись ветхого че-
ловека с делами его и облек-
шись в нового, который об-
новляется в познании по об-
разу Создавшего его, где нет
ни Еллина, ни Иудея, ни об-
резания, ни необрезания, вар-
вара, Скифа, раба, свободно-
го, но все и во всем Христос.

St. Luke (21:12-19).
The Lord said: “They will lay
their hands on you and perse-
cute you, delivering you up to
the synagogues and prisons.
You will be brought before
kings and rulers for My name’s
sake. But it will turn out for
you as an occasion for testi-
mony. Therefore settle it in
your hearts not to meditate be-
forehand on what you will an-
swer; for I will give you a
mouth and wisdom which all
your adversaries will not be
able to contradict or resist. You
will be betrayed even by par-
ents and brothers, relatives and
friends; and they will put some
of you to death. And you will
be hated by all for My name’s
sake. But not a hair of your
head shall be lost. By your pa-
tience possess your souls.

будете и родителями, и брать-

друзьями, и некоторых из вас
умертвят; и будете ненавиди-
мы всеми за имя Мое, но и
волос с головы вашей не про-
падет, - терпением вашим
спасайте души ваши.

From the Epistle of Apostle
Paul to Ephesians (6:10-17).
Brethren, be strong in the Lord
and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against
flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the dark-
ness of this age, against spiri-
tual hosts of wickedness in the
heavenly places. Therefore take
up the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to with-
stand in the evil day, and hav-
ing done all, to stand.Stand
therefore, having girded your
waist with truth, having put on
the breastplate of righteousness,
and having shod your feet with
the preparation of the gospel of
peace; above all, taking the
shield of faith with which you
will be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked one.
And take the helmet of salva-
tion, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of
God.

Братие, укрепляйтесь Госпо-
дом и могуществом силы Его.
Облекитесь во всеоружие Бо-
жие, чтобы вам можно было
стать против козней диаволь-
ских, потому что наша брань
не против крови и плоти, но
против начальств, против
властей, против мироправи-
телей тьмы века сего, против
духов злобы поднебесной.
Для сего приимите всеору-
жие Божие, дабы вы могли
противостать в день злый и,
все преодолев, устоять. Итак
станьте, препоясав чресла ва-
ши истиною и облекшись в
броню праведности, и обув
ноги в готовность благовест-
вовать мир; а паче всего возь-
мите щит веры, которым воз-
можете угасить все раскален-
ные стрелы лукавого; и шлем
спасения возьмите, и меч ду-
ховный, который есть Слово
Божие.

St. Luke (14:16-24).
The Lord said: “A certain man
gave a great supper and invited
many, and sent his servant at
supper time to say to those who
were invited, ‘Come, for all
things are now ready.’ But they
all with one accord began to
make excuses. The first said to
him, ‘I have bought a piece of
ground, and I must go and see
it. I ask you to have me ex-
cused.’ And another said, ‘I
have bought five yoke of oxen,
and I am going to test them. I
ask you to have me excused.’
Still another said, ‘I have mar-
ried a wife, and therefore I can-
not come.’ So that servant came
and reported these things to his
master. Then the master of the
house, being angry, said to his
servant, ‘Go out quickly into
the streets and lanes of the city,
and bring in here the poor and
the maimed and the lame and
the blind.’ And the servant said,
‘Master, it is done as you com-
manded, and still there is
room.’ Then the master said
to the servant, ‘Go out into the
