The Site Test Procedures as per the Site Inspection & Test Plan to Measure Line
Impedance Parameters designated (STP- LINE IMPEDANCE PARAMETERS
MEASUREMENT) is as follows:
Responsible:
Commissioning Manager is responsible for the content of this instruction and
the Commissioning Engineer for its implementation.
Purpose:
Test equipment:
CPC 100
CPCU1
CPGB1
Reference documentation:
Refer to Approved Drawing & Cable or conductor Manufacturer DATA sheet.
1. Precaution:
Measurement only applies to single circuit line where no mutual coupling to parallel
lines.
Ground the power lines on both ends, using an installed ground switch or manmade
grounding cables.
Make sure that the connection to ground at the far end of the line is not removed
during the complete test procedure.

Open the near grounding switch to measure circular current which is flowing
through the conductor.

Use the preprogrammed templates from CPC 100.
In this template, can find Schema test card and sequencer card.
o Schema test card – These cards are comments of test card. Which show how
to connect the clamps to the CP GB1.
o Sequencer test card – These cards are used for measurements.
Once everything is ready, press I/O button on the CPC 100’s front panel to start
measurement after you have connected the clamps which is comes from line to the
CP GB1.
The Measurement stopped automatically after the sequence card has terminated.

3 Phase Measurement
Page 5/8
Phasing Test:
1. Isolate the three phases from both ends and connect the circuit as shown.
2. Ground one phase from Remote end and connect the local end with
insulation tester (Megger) between the phase to ground.
3. Repeat for remaining phases.
Page 6/8
Conductivity Test:
1. Connect the circuit as shown.
2. Short the three phases together from other end.
3. Using Insulation tester (Megger), Apply 1kV DC between Phase R and Y
and observe the reading in the megger.
4. Repeat the same for Phase Y and B.
Susecptance Test:
(1) Connect the circuit as shown
(2) Isolate the three phases from both ends.
(3) Connect 1-phase 220 V AC supply voltage source (Generator) between
phase R and Y.
(4) Connect Ammeter and Voltmeter as shown in the figure.
(5) Apply voltage and observe the reading of the Ammeter and Voltmeter.
(6) Calculate phase to phase susceptance as per the formula below
(7) Repeat for both phase Y-B and B-R. Fill the result in the test record.
X= 2V/I IN OHM.
B= 1/ (-JX) IN Moh or siemens.
