WORK EXPERIENCE
May 2003 – Current The Legend Clubs Wales, WI
Communications Director (May 2007 – April 2010); Operations Manager (April 2010 – Current)
 Play an integral role in building the most successful brand of private country clubs in Wisconsin
 Balance member relations, communications, marketing, and operations responsibilities while assisting Managing
Partner and supporting other departments
 The Legend expanded from one private club to three clubs in the last three years; managed relations with club
members and prospective members through this major transition, and became the steady face the Members can
go to for a timely response to their questions and needs

Event Coordination
 Market and assist in planning and execution of special events and tournaments (approximately 30 special events
per year and 20 tournaments per year)
 Assist in the contracting and planning of charity golf outings
 Attend member and prospective member events and coordinate critical details throughout events
 Coordinate travel for Member events
 Assist with tournament uniform selection and embroidery
 Tournament Chairperson for 2008 & 2010 AJGA Future Legends Tournament
 Recruited and organized volunteers and staff to fill volunteer shifts and arranged private housing for interns
 Spearheaded Junior-Am Tournament, raising money for the event
 Secured media coverage, including newspaper and television
 Procured donations of courtesy cars and Athletic Training Services

Communications & Daily Operations


 Oversee diverse operations of the club, events, and tournaments; referred to as the “go-to person” for day-to-day
operations, challenges, and member relations
 Design and write collateral materials for prospective members and existing members
 Coordinate advertising artwork and promotional materials for the Legend brand
 Write marketing content for the club websites & regularly update sites (www.thelegendclubs.com &
www.thelegendatbergamont.com)
 Research and procure major club capital purchases such as media equipment and capital items

Member Relations
 Manage member relations and communication:
 Maintain and update detailed member databases & paper files
 Influence the “family feel” of the club by enhancing communication
 Manage member relations in transitioning from one club to three: coordinate design of new club website and
edit its content, process new member additions and category changes, and negotiate new member agreements
 Encourage and increase participation in events through marketing upcoming club events
 Manage all communication with existing members; involves an average of approximately 15 e-mail contacts per
month; other methods include website, mailings, and personal contact
 Report on events including photos and content through club website
 Design presentations for member meetings
Prospective Member Recruitment and Sales
 Target prospective members with marketing, materials, and special events
 Work with professional athletes on membership and housing options
 Sell memberships from introduction to close; verbally communicate benefit of joining the Legend “family”
 Maintain membership spreadsheets to track memberships sold and deposits collected
 Make follow-up phone calls to new members to ensure that they have had a positive experience, and answer
questions they have regarding their membership
 Sell optional member benefit through design of printed materials, e-mails, and phone and in-person interactions
 Assist in the planning, marketing, and execution of prospective member events
 Develop marketing materials for new clubs, including video and print

Other Administrative Tasks


 Coding of expense reports of invoices
 Cross-departmental support for computer technical issues and Microsoft Office
 Design and manage internal club calendar and formal Member calendar of events
 Prepare PowerPoint presentations and videos
 Turn dictated talking points into formal communication to Members and mail letters in a timely manner
 Create and maintain multiple electronic databases for financials and Member information, including Member
deposit information, birthdays, usage analysis, and special member benefits

 Completed undergraduate degree in 3 years while maintaining my job responsibilities at The Legend at
Brandybrook.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
 InterVarsity Christian Fellowship Student Leadership Team 2005-2007. Mentor and influence students to be
leaders of integrity and service upon graduation.
 Participated in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts; secured local business donations and travelled on service trips
during Spring Break 2006 and 2007 and Winter Break 2007.
