1- In order to reduce cost and improve performance, Choc Co. should do some changes
in their current learning and development provision, which are concentrated at training
level and having the vision of what they are seeking to achieve and the mission that is
how to achieve that strategy goal, through a brief training design process that has 7
levels of design, conducting needs assessment analyzing the goal and the way the goal
has to be achieved in, also analyzing their employees, ensuring employees readiness
for training in a new way and leaving old methods of training, creating a learning
environment that is concerned about it’s employees and the modern ways of training
and learning, ensuring transfer of training via support from peers and managers and via
self management, developing an evaluation plan that helps in identifying learning
outcomes and choosing evaluation design, plan a cost-benefit analysis that helps cut
cost on the design and helps in benefiting more from that training, selecting the best
training method that may be a traditional one or e-learning, monitoring and evaluating
the program by conducting evaluation and making changes to improve the program.
Also cutting cost and improving performance is applied by cutting off old training
methods and old trainees should be trained to apply new methods of training to
compete with rivals.

2- E-learning is changing the delivery of training and makes training more realistic,
allows training to occur at any time and any place, reduces travel costs, provides
greater accessibility to training and consistent delivery, provides the ability to access
experts and share learning with others, provides the possibility of creating a learning
environment with many positive features such as feedback, self-pacing, and practice
exercises, allows companies greater use of alternative work arrangements, it also
allows virtual teams to exist, these teams are separated by time, geographic distance,
culture, organizational boundaries and that rely almost exclusively on technology to
interact and complete their projects, also improved knowledge sharing helps to share
knowledge between employees which helps improve the cost cutting process in Choc
Co. this is done by employees and managers sharing their tacit knowledge between
each other and not needing to attend costy training seminars and cutting cost on that
behalf, also this process will make the HRD activity at Choc Co. more strategic, since it
will help the HRD be more immersed between their employees and the shopfloor and
acquiring knowledge about what is needed in the shop floor and what training is wanted
and acquired, this will help the HRD in being alerted if there is a need to train
employees in a new method by sharing knowledge not by attending seminars which will
also cut costs on these terms.

3- The firm will have a return on investment in learning and development activity by
applying the best training design that helps in cutting cost and ensuring the quality of
outcome that will have competitive advantage on other rivals, also the firm will insure
that they will get return on investment after they insure that knowledge is acquired by
the employees through training which will be an intangible asset for the firm that their
outcome will be better and might even beat the rivals in competence, this will insure the
firm that they will get a return on their investment in learning and development activity.
