Studying culture gives us insight into how other people think and feel.

It allows us to compare and

contrast our thoughts and feelings in ways not possible if we never encounter information about
these other peoples.Understanding other cultures prevent us from making the same mistakes we
made in the past with devastating consequences. Today we live in a digital world where people
spend most of their time with their gadgets. To discourage a sedentary lifestyle, we need to expose
ourselves to different cultures from an early stage. Having hands-on experience is better than
reading or even watching the same on television. Being exposed to culture learning opportunities
stimulates your mind, and helps us think in diverse ways.Lots of problems can arise from
misunderstandings, especially because we live in a multicultural world. By learning and
understanding different cultures we understand why people do things the way they do. When you
identify with other people, you sympathize with their situation.Cultural practices shouldn’t be the
reason why people oppress one another. Learning about diverse cultures helps us realize that there
are numerous approaches to life, and one may not be the best. Many times, interacting with people
from different cultures can help from a different perspective. When you learn about different
cultures, you establish new ways of thinking and approaching solving problems easier. In today’s
techno-savvy times, the world is rapidly becoming smaller. As people travel far and wide, there are
high chances that we will encounter people with varying cultures. You’ll need to master the art of
tolerating each other. We’ll also want people to tolerate ourselves and the best way of achieving this
is by being understanding. This plays a major role in living in an all-round community and making a
versatile human being. people need to learn about other cultures to avoid misunderstandings.
Learning about other people’s customs and cultures gives enriches the children’s experience
everywhere they go. There are various cultures, practices, beliefs, and norms in the world. Teaching
new generations how to be culturally conscious and respectful of others prepares them to face the
world.Studying culture helps us to understand our past, our place in the world, and our future,
thereby allowing us to make better decisions in the present.A great deal of conflict is due to a lack of
understanding, and by studying culture we can avoid a lot of this because we can understand the
perspective of the ‘other,’ and can then better accept actions that we might consider wrong. It helps
us to understand ourselves because we all come from a common source. We can know ourselves,
we can also better understand what it is we need to live a good life.It is important if anyone wanted
to travel or if you have a career that involves meeting people from different cultures to help
communicate and understand them better. It helps you understand that everyone’s mind or
behaviour works completely different from each other even if you're living in the same
country. When we understand and learn about different cultures we will start to open our mind to
different ideas & values, realize there is no such thing as weird or normal (Whatever you consider
normal, another person might consider it weird or strange), and have a more understanding of
people. Without culture, I don’t think we would have such diversified beliefs in this world. Life would
be pretty boring if all believed, dressed, and behaved the same way, there are so many different
people and nations living in the world. All of them have their own story, own cinema, books, songs,
way of living, style of dressing and language they are speaking. We are always curious to know more
about people with whom we share the planet. To understand life and people we study culture to get
familiar with things beyond our land and our nation. Culture is the signature of any nation. There are
so many new songs new books new lifestyles that we learn, and make a comparison with our people.
New ways of thinking, new places to see or visit. Culture is important to understand and learn
because we are all so different and we see the world in different colours and think with different
thoughts. With the current globalization trends, the study of cultures has moved from the shelves of
scientists to the front line of everyday life. There are marked cultural differences in societies across
the world. Recognizing and respecting these differences goes a long way towards making life more
productive and peaceful place to live in.Similarly studying our pasts cultural perspectives and
attitudes can show us how today’s attitudes and ideas were formed and how they have shifted over
time. Culture is fluid, what may be taboo one generation can be embraced the next. Knowing exactly
what kind of tools people used in what kind of cultural aspects, (religious, cooking, clothing etc), can
tell us what things were valued and what things were disposable.Closed mindedness, isolationism,
fundamentalism all stop thinking minds. They also lead to crisis, strife, and conflict. Studying culture
and help change this.We need to study culture so we can have an understanding of what it must be
like to be persecuted by what has happened in that particular culture. If we are willing to learn how
native Americans were persecuted by the Europeans then we have a clear understanding of why
they must be leary of people of white descent. That way we will be able to live without violence and
domination. Culture is beautiful and we all have some in our blood. In a world that has been
increasingly pushing individuals towards isolation, hostile towards rules and traditions, and
relentlessly attempting to flatten the differences between all peoples, the study of culture has never
been more important for the individual as well as humanity itself. The world is becoming increasingly
diverse and includes people of many religions, languages, economic groups, and other cultural
groups. It is becoming clear that to build communities that are successful at improving conditions
and resolving problems, we need to understand and appreciate many cultures, establish
relationships with people from cultures other than our own, and build strong alliances with different
cultural groups. To build communities that are powerful enough to attain significant change, we need
large numbers of people working together. If cultural groups join forces, they will be more effective
in reaching common goals, than if each group operates in isolation. Each cultural groups has unique
strengths and perspectives that the larger community can benefit from. We need a wide range of
ideas, customs, and wisdom to solve problems and enrich community life.Understanding cultures
will help us overcome and prevent racial and ethnic divisions. Racial and ethnic divisions result in
misunderstandings, loss of opportunities, and sometimes violence. Racial and ethnic conflicts drain
communities of financial and human resources; they distract cultural groups from resolving the key
issues they have in common.People from different cultures have to be included in decision-making
processes for programs or policies to be effective. The people affected by a decision have to be
involved in formulating solutions--it's a basic democratic principle. Without the input and support of
all the groups involved, decision-making, implementation, and follow-through are much less likely to
occur. An appreciation of cultural diversity goes hand-in-hand with a just and equitable society. If we
do not learn about the influences that cultural groups have had on our mainstream history and
culture, we are all missing out on an accurate view of our society and our communities.
