It’s a fictitious band – they don’t exist, but this might duplicate a real-life scenario where you are asked to work with an
artist you’ve never heard of, or are not really familiar with. You would still have to do the job! You can’t sit back and say
‘I’m not doing it – I don’t like them’. In this case, you can make the artist whoever you like, whatever style of music you
like, whatever genre. The style of art you create might indicate to me what genre you have decided to make them.
Many artists typically do not use photographs of themselves for promotion in a situation like this as that is not an essential
part of their image. You CAN use a photograph of an artist, if you like – you can use any artist you like and call them
CROW – but as per any number of examples I am providing you, or which you can look up, a photo is not at all essential.
Some prefer to use very graphic treatments representational of their music. Pick art that transmits a mood, or a sense of
excitement that might make me interested in going to this imaginary show.
Marking Criteria
- ability to execute and include all details provided in brief
- technical execution of image and type
- originality/creativity in executing the brief
- clear sense of visual hierarchy involved in design
- does it work to attract my attention, alert me to an appealing-looking event
