CHAPTER /TOPIC: CRITICAL ESSAY WRITING
INSTRUCTION:
1. Write THREE (3) critical essays in 450 words based on topics of your choice. You are
required to apply the correct format of essay writing. The essays should be of the
following types:

a) DESCRIPTIVE
b) NARRATIVE
c) CAUSE AND EFFECT

2. Your essay should include the following:

 There is one clear, well-focused topic. Main idea stands out and is supported by
detailed information.
 All supportive facts are reported accurately.
 The introduction is inviting, states the main topic, and previews the structure of the
paper.
 Details are placed in a logical order and the way they are presented effectively keeps
the interest of the reader.
 All sentences sound natural and are easy- on-the-ear when read aloud. Each sentence
is clear and has an obvious emphasis.
 Writer uses vivid words and phrases that linger or draw pictures in the reader's
mind, and the choice and placement of the words seems accurate, natural, and not
forced

3. Present your critical essays in class and justify the writing techniques used in your
essays.
4. Kindly prepare power point slides/ Microsoft word document for your presentation
and to highlight or label important elements with regard of your presentation
