Effective Span Length (L) = 30 m
Footpath Width = 1.5 (x 2) m
Footpath Live Load Intensity (P') = 4 kN/m2
Width of Carriageway = 7.5 m

SOLUTION :

For effective spans of over 7.5 but not exceeding 30 m, the intensity of load shall be 
determined according to the equation(Clause 206.3(b)) :

P = P' ‐   40L ‐ 300 KN/m2

Therefore,

Uniformly Distributed Load (UDL) on one side Footpath      =   1.5x3 = 4.5 KN/m
