With this letter I hereby would like to state my motivation to attend the Bucharest Forum

2016 organized by the Aspen Institute Romania and the German Marshall Fund of the United
States.

The Forum theme is especially relevant for me because in the present I study International
Relations and European Studies at the Faculty of the Political Science in Bucharest. I would
highly appreciate to be given an opportunity to volunteer in this event that gathers professional
from all over the world. It would help me to deepen my understanding of the politics at a global
level.

During my prior studies, I have found out that I would like to specialize in diplomacy. In
order to achieve my goal I have chosen this faculty especially with courses in English.
Additionally, I started taking separated classes of Chinese in order to enlarge my multicultural
knowledge and this helped me to succeed in getting the first level in HSK.

For the last 5 years, I engaged in the organization of several projects such as national and
international theater festivals and I have been a member of the Romanian Scouts and the Union
of Romanian Students. In spite of my experience in organizing and coordinating projects, I did
not have the opportunity to participate in an event with such an amplitude as this one. Being a
very curious person, for me, this Forum represents a challenge in overcoming my limits.

At this moment, I am the project manager of an event called Let’s Speak Up in Political
Science that wants to raise awareness amongst students in matters of sexual discrimination,
Brexit, the immigration crisis and diplomacy. This project consists of five trainings, four
workshops and a Conference on Security. I am utterly convinced that this volunteering
opportunity would really help me in achieving my goals and improve my involvement in this
project. Moreover, it would be an excellent inspiration for organizing new and innovative events
for students specialized in political science.

Recently, I have started to organize and hold trainings courses for students on
Communication, Leadership, Public Speaking, Motivation and Negotiation. Working with
people of my age on personal development has helped me in understanding the current problems
of the society. Nevertheless, the knowledge acquired by taking part of this Forum, would aid me
to increase my empathy and improve my skills of communication in different and multicultural
contexts for I wish to become an international trainer. I perceive this also as an occasion to
familiarize with good practices as channel for my personal development.

In conclusion, I consider that there experience acquired in this volunteering opportunity

would be unique and the knowledge could really leave a mark on my future. Thank you and I
look forward to hearing from you.
