My favourite Ork units

Lootas: I've been running different setups with orky elite units for a while now
. Kommandos with Snikrot,
Burnas, Tankbustas, multiple Nob units, you name it, I've tried it. My favourite
option by far is the Lootas.
In fact, 3 x 5 Lootas. Let me explain why. This unit brings an invaluable elemen
t to the army. Long range
anti tank firepower. In face they are the only unit in the army that can do some
thing like that reliably.
Their Deffguns have an awesome range of 48'',like no other in the codex. That me
ans that they can reach
those pesky vehicles that usually hang out in the back ready to zoom in the last
few turns and deny some
objectives. Their rate of fire range from good to awesome depending on how well
you roll. Even with 5 shots
they got enough chance to hit a couple of times which is enough for an AV 10 or
11 vehicle.
I like to keep the units slim so that the opponents would think twice before he
commits a unit to shoot or
assault them. Having a long enugh range means that you can deploy them quite dee
p inside your deployment zone,
away from rapidfiring bolters reach. With some careful positioning they could be
out of reach of heavy bolters
and other 36'' weapons too. Worst case scenario you can always go to ground if y
ou take too many wounds. Missing
a round of shooting is always better than running of the table. Also they will b
e relatively safe from assault
since probably your opponent won't commit an close combat unit just for 5 guys h
anging out in the back.
Boyz: The humble boyz are the backbone of every ork army. They are some of the b
est close combat units in the
game with 6 points give you 4 S4 attack on the charge. Cheap as chips and very k
illy. The big question is how
many? The ideal number for me is 20 because this is how much you can fit inside
a battlewagon. Yes, I think boyz
need a ride in order for them to function properly. Trukks are too weedy and 12
boyz aren't going to do much.
So give them a taxi and let them loose on the battlefield. Nob with Power Klaw a
nd Bosspole is of course mandatory

Grotz: These little guys can win you games if played correctly. Get 10 of them w
ith a runtherd it will cost you 40
points and you'll get an extra scoring unit. Put them in reserve regardless of t
he mission and just pray to the
dice gods that they arrive late enough to stay alive. In objective missions make
sure you put an objective near
the table edge so your little dudes can reach it in one turn of movement. In kil
l points just hide them behind
some LoS blocking terrain so no one shoots at them.
