Method Statement
Stack#1 -7th and 8th Shell Erection

(1) Objective:
The purpose of this procedure is to describe the required resources and procedure for
the erection of the Stack#1- 7th & 8th shell.
(1) Field Application:
This procedure applies to the erection of the Stack#1-7th & 8th shell. However, it may vary
depending on available resources & site conditions. The same shall be revised as per
necessity.
(2) Resources:
A) Manpower
The workforce planned for this operation would include:

Section Engineer/Supervisor 1
Rigger Foreman 1
HSE Supervisor 1
Riggers 8

(3) Lifting Arrangement shell plates:

 The weight of 7th & 8th assembled shell is 8 MT.

 The erection team, involved in the job, will thoroughly discuss the required
erection procedure, before commencement of the job, necessary
manpower, tools-tackles and machinery shall be made available.

(4) Equipment and tools and tackles required:-

Lifting Crane details – Zoom lion Crawler 180T

 Belt Slings 10 T – 9 meter length – 4 Nos.

 D- Shackles – 25 MT capacity – 4 Nos.
 Crane boom length and radius will be decided as per
crane load chart.
 The tentative Boom length with fly jib will be-90 Meters
 Tentative lifting radius will be-23 Meters

Tailing Crane details: -Zoom lion Tyre mounted 55 T/70T Crane

 Belt Slings 10 T – 9 meter length – 2 Nos.

 D- Shackles -25MT capacity – 2nos

 Crane boom length and radius will be decided as per crane load
chart.

6. Safety Control:
 During the erection process, all necessary safety guidelines will be
maintained during all the lifting operations.

 All tools-tackles to be used will be visually inspected before use by

authorized individuals. Only tested & calibrated tools-tackles are to be
used. Test Certificates will be available with relevant tools-tackles being
used.

 The area of work will be barricaded to ensure no unauthorized entry

during work.
 All personnel involved would wear necessary PPE, like Safety Shoes,
Safety Helmet, high-visibility Jackets, protective eye glass etc.
 Erection activity will commence after agreement with the HSE
department that all considerations have been taken into
consideration with regards to safety of workers involved.

 When wind speed (sustained or gusts) exceeds 20 mph then lifting
operation must not begin (or, if already in progress, must be terminated
