INTRODUCTION
Portfolio can termed as a combinations in which student academic work and other related
types of educational evidences with the format aim to review the quality of academic
performance Course work and learning and development progress. It helps in evaluating whether
a student effectively accomplish the overall criteria of graduation standards great promotions are
not. The present report is mainly a student reflective account two major points are covered that
includes learning of University and skills that acquire during the course work.

Skill reflection
In the tenure at University, I take advantage of various skills in which some of the skills were
effectively inherited by me and some of the skills required by me in the process of Course work
along with the lectures that has been given by tutors. In relations with this all the skills
effectively benefit me in the process of my academic life at University it is briefly mention
below:
Communication skills
This skill is mainly an individual ability within which giving and receiving of information with
other person or group takes place. Communication skill basically consist various kinds of
element that include listening and emphatizing, observing and speaking at the time of my college
tenure. Different type of skills have been inherited by me in which formative form
communication skills not only benefit me in my personal life but this skill also effectively aid me
and benefit me in my life in weekly sessions. It has been analysed by me that there are mainly
three forms of communication skills such as visual, oral and written. All of these elements
effectively benefit me towards improving my academic growth, along with this with the help of
effective communication skills chance of getting better future opportunities and growth raised
Presentation skill
The skill is mainly ability in a person within which they present the interest on a particular topic
in front of targeted audience. Presentation skills mainly include different types of element such
as tone body language, voice, speaking way, tone etc. In the initial day of my college I have
realised that presentation skill of mine was not that much effective as I feel hard to attract other
individual on my presentation. But after taking regular classroom sessions in a week I come
across through various effective steps that include body language, eye contact, soft speaking
skills, and attractive slides. This can be further set that with the help of presentation skills and

effectively able to deliver my presentation in my particular specialised academic zone which
automatically contributes towards my high grade marks in this segment of speaking zone
Reading skills
Reading skill is an ability of an ability of an individual which they showcase the way in which
they a read and interpret things in a right manner. This sills act an essential element in each and
every students along with readers’ life. People those were especially belong to academic zones
this skill can be termed as a most essential element in their career and is mandatory to advance
their career level. As per analysing my past experience it has been realised by me that in the
initial stage I am not that much easy to interpret reading material in a proper time. This was due
to my underdeveloped vocabulary stills that look towards taking lot of my time as I kept on
searching new words on Google after the passing time I read more Books with the help of which
I have effectively developed the skills moreover it can be evaluated that reading skills not only
benefit me in reading my academic books in a perfect time period but it also helps me to increase
my knowledge. As a result I have actually able to gain more merit grades in a college tenure

Group and Team Skills

A person can turn into flourishing in academic and professional life simply when he
holds the formative aptitude to exertion in collaboration and coordination with others to obtain
wanted outcomes. Throughout the lecture, I erudite the importance of functioning within teams.
Along with this, a manner in which helps in assisting working in a collectively mode on the road
to attaining the goals and objectives. I formatively learnt Belbin’s Theory which qualified me the
roles that each person in a team plays and the way in which this contributes in the direction of
the attainment of targets of team.. These skills will effectively benefit to shape my personal
ability and personality through which I can easily able to work with any individual without
getting involved in a dispute.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism is an act in which a person presents other individual opinions and view as their own.
In my course of my University tenure, it has been learned by me that plagiarism is mainly acts an
academic crime. It can be further acknowledged in two different types that include, unintentional
and international. Lately, in the lectures it has been leant by me that ideal student accomplish
their project by doing in text citations in their work as to give appropriate credit to that original

writer. Thus, this helps me to assist that in texting acts as a most important element in a student
academic life in order to complete project in a best effective manner with more proficiency

HOW SKILLS HELP IN ACADEMIC LIFE

In my overall learning experience, I have felt that I go through numerous types of
experiences which effectively helped me to shape my academic life towards best. Some of the
certain skills helped me to strengthen my learning personal skills while some lead me towards
effective development of my professional skills. This benefits me in contributing towards
brightening my career towards better. As per according to above mentioned specified skills this
can be evaluated that there are some formative core skills which holds a precious position for me
as those skills helps me to stimulate my career towards high growth in my academic life in order
to improve my working capabilities skills. Some of the most important skills among them consist
team and group working , communication skills, academic writings and presentation skills. As
per according to my personal experience, I have effectively realised that communication skills
helps me to discuss my actual measure of confusion in a feasible way with my tutor. While on
the other hand, with the help of understanding presentation skills I am effectively able to
represent myself in front of large population in a professional manner. As per basis of
evaluation, it is being evaluated that both of the presentation and communications skills helps
me to stimulate my career towards developmental way in an interrelated way. As communication
skills helps an individual to develop their skills in the field of communication which will
simultaneously integrate presentation skill. As best effective communication skills holds a string
position towards perfect presentation.
Along with this, it has been further realised my be that along with formative
communication skills skills in presentation holds an effective place towards appropriate gesture
of language, dressing manner, pitch volume, body language and more. All these skills effectively
aid in contributing towards presentation in a equal and contributing manner in an effective and
remarkable way. In the phase of learning, I have effectively realised that it took time to me to
adapt and learn this skills in an overall manner. But with the passing time I realised that working
in a team will effectively benefit to accomplish my goals with more effectiveness and it increase
my ability to accomplish my targets in a stipulated period of time.

CONCLUSION
As per the above mentioned report, it has been concluded that it is essential for students
to effectively inherent numerous skills during the course of their education so to conduct
formative successful academic skills. Some of the certain skills include, writing, presentation,
academic, referencing, capabilities and more. With help of this students can effectively able to
build their potential and capabilities in order to shape they can efficiently able to mould their
personality in best effective way so that they can formatively lead their career towards
professional life.

Types of Graphs
Graph refers to pictorial representation of statistical data to improvise clarity of
information. Tutors have guided me to acquire knowledge related with ways in which data
within graphs and tables can be evaluated and interpreted as well to draw labelled graphs by
making use of computer. I have acquired knowledge associated with different types of graphs by
which I can make eye-catchy and attractive reports. There are various graphs like scatter plots,
line graph, pie chart, bar graph, broken line graph and picto-graph. They can be drawn as a two
dimensional or three dimensional depending upon requirements (Basturkmen, 2014). These
graphs will help me to present exact information associated with my reports in an enhanced by
which I can get high marks within internal as well as external assessments. This will also assist
me to explain the concept which I want to as it is easy to understand and assess as by visualising
anything it becomes easy to interpret them.

Critical Thinking
It comprises of four facets, they are, reflection upon own opinions, challenging
assumptions, evaluation of evidences, debate over an issue. This skill has relevant impact on
academic skills which are determined by learning from lecture. Over a time within University,
this skill has assisted me while working within team as I got an opportunity to weigh thoughts
and opinion of others by which I can compare their views with mine as well as reach to a
conclusion related with the best and suitable way to deal with a specific condition. Apart from

this, it will also assist me to evaluate views of others and find out the best one so that desired
goals can be attained with stipulated time duration. Critical thinking will also help me to gain
knowledge related with different perspectives.

Reflective Thinking
Reflective thinking is an analytical thinking practice through which a person particularly
analyses a situation and makes judgment regarding what has happened. During the lectures, I
learnt that Gibbs reflective cycle is an effective model which assists a person in executing
reflective thinking and writing. I made use of this model in a reflective assignment of mine at
university and gained appreciation for exceptionally displaying my reflective thinking process. In
future course of time, this skill will assist me in taking further assignment and associating my
ideas with a situation or scenario so as to give effective judgement.

Academic Writing
Academic writing refers to a specific style utilised in formal assessments or essays of
coursework. This makes use of a well devised and logical structure, formal language and is
generally supported by evidence (Baker and et. al., 2015). As per the learning from lectures, I
acknowledged that there are 4 types of academic writing, analytical, descriptive, persuasive and
critical. I learnt that each of these forms of writing possesses its own specific purpose and
language features. The academic writing skills have helped me in completing my assignments in
an effective manner in past and will further provide assistance to me in carrying out the same in a
feasible manner.
