Real Results at Our Club

I
’ve come to realise from observing bridge players that anything may happen on a hand. Bidding and play rarely follow
the ‘recommended’ bidding and play. So although a ‘recommended line’ is useful for learning, there are several outcomes
to each bridge hand and this can be understood only by comparing actual results from a bridge club. Comparison with
other bridge players provides learning and often helps build confidence for new players who feel they fail if they do not use the
‘recommended’ bids. In this article, I look at some ordinary hands from our (mainly Acol) club as examples.
