1. Initiation stage – The identification of problem
Identification of scope or goal Identification of deliverables Identification of the timeline of the project 2. Planning stage – Estimation of budget for the whole project Gathering resources Risk anticipation by identifying potential quality roadblock Creation of workflow 3. Execution stage – Turn planning into action Creating tasks and organizing workflows Monitoring the workflows Communicating with team members (the people at supermarket) 4. Closure stage – Making sure that all aspects of the projects are completed and providing reports to key stakeholders. In this project, it can be divided into four stage. First stage will be the initiation stage where feasibility is determined, and major deliverables are identified. It will be the starting point for the project. Taken example from En Asrul case, he need to identify the list of groceries that he should buy at supermarket. He need to understand the purpose, objective and the goal of the project assigned by the owner of the project, his wife. Moreover, he needs to note all the activities, deliverables and timetable of the project. The second stage is planning stage where it include the organization and preparation of the step. As example, En Asrul need to create the work flow on how he is going to get all those stuff and the budget estimation for the whole listing. Beside, En Asrul also need to consider all the risk that he may face such as the targeted supermarket may close and he need to find another supermarket which will affect the costing and time. Next will be the execution stage. At this stage, we need to carry out the work and turning plan into action. For example, En Asrul can execute all his planning with all possible action and risk. In this stage also the communication with team members are important where it could lead to project success. Managing budget is the most crucial part at this stage because it will always unpredictable. Furthermore, the longer the time taken for the project completion, the higher the cost will be. Closure stage will be the last stage where it will determine the closing of the project. This stage will provide the final deliverables, release project resources and determine the success of the project. Example, En Asrul must able to achieve his goal buying all those groceries needed within the budget and time given.
