    Honda Accord

    The Honda website claims that Peter’s Honda Accord has a fuel
    consumption rate of 8.7 L per 100 km (for a mix of city and highway
    driving).
    1) What does that mean?

    2) If another car had a fuel consumption rate of 9.1 L per 100 km, is that
    better or worse? Explain your answer.

    On the next page are copies of two consecutive receipts from petrol
    stations where Peter filled his car. Using the information on the receipts,
    calculate his fuel consumption.
    How does your calculated fuel consumption value compare to the
    advertised fuel consumption value? Is it better or worse? How might you
    explain the difference in fuel consumption?
