Due to the current situation we are facing, I could only do a
certain amount of planning. I still knew what y documentary was
going to look like so I was able to do as much planning as I
could. As I couldn’t write a full script for my documentary, I
wrote a short introduction which will be heard at the start of the
documentary.
I came across some issues when planning as of the situation. I
was unable to do the location reeces because I am doing a video
call interview and I don’t know there exact addresses, so I
overcame this by writing the plan and an idea of where it will be
for example in their bedroom. I was not able to do auditions for
the people I was going to interview so I just did some research of
the TikTok accounts to get a better idea if they were the right
person to be interviewed.
I didn’t need complete storyboards as I’m doing a documentary.
During my planning, not much has changed apart from after
doing research into my topic I was able to think about how I will
include the fact and statistics in my production. I thought about
it for a while and I came up with an idea, when I include my b-
roll I will include these facts here. This means that something is
still on the screen and it will hopefully not lose their interest.
A can’t write a full script because I’m doing a documentary, I
wrote a short introduction. In the introduction to make this up to
standard I made it as detailed as I could with catchy phrases and
facts. His will hopefully make the viewers want to carry on
watching.
I had already spoke to some of the cast before my planning,
asking sure that they were available from the end of May til
June. However, I would only need them once and for the
maximum time for 15 minutes. When I created my cast and crew
list, I explained who they are and what they would be doing. I
then researched into their TikTok accounts looking at followers,
posts and their viewers. This then enabled me to know whether
there was the right person to be interviewed.
