Compound Sentences with Coordinating Conjunctions

a. Complete the sentences using coordinate conjunction (FAN BOYS)
EX: I studied very hard last semester,…….
I studies hard last semester, so I got a scholar ship
 Corona virus spreads everywhere, So I stayed home for 2 weeks.
 We have to stay at home for 2 weeks, and the lectures are online learning.
 I don’t go to campus, for we should have to stay at home during the last two weeks
 Don did not cheat on the test, So the score he got was pure of his ability
 He didn’t have any money, yet He went to shopping at the mall.
 Everyone was busy, and everyone doing their job.
 It was getting dark, So children are forbidden to roam outside the house.
 He didn't want to go to the dentist, and he doesn’t want to eat or take the medicine.

b. Use an appropriate coordinate conjunction (FANBOYS) to combine the

sentences:
 They were still playing on the dirty field behind the house, yet they didn’t know better.
 There was so much food at the party,  and Diana even made it all herself.
 He doesn’t drink,  nor does he smoke.
 My favorite team did lose the game, but you could see they gave it their all.
 This restaurant serves amazing steak,  and if you want they also have fish.
 He has problems at home, but he doesn’t let that distract him from his job.
 His father made sure he studies in high school,  so he was later able to attend a good college.
c. Listen to the conversation, and write on what the speakers are talking about (6-7
sentences).

Diana Funtana calls Foxy Networks to speak directly for Barb Bangles. She calls about Barb
Bangles contacted Diana to get an interview for her entertainment show. But Barb Bangles not in her
room. So, Mrs. Funtana leave a message. The message about Mrs. Funtana was availaible next
week and request to call back today for confirmation. So, Daisy recorded all the messages that Mrs.
Funtana left.
