LTU 401
Technical Specification

Description
The Flygt Level Transmitting Unit, LTU 401-sensor
is used for measuring a liquid level. The heart of
LTU 401 is a ceramic thick-film sensor and the unit
is specifically engineered to withstand the harsh
environmental conditions typically encountered by
Flygt pumps: sewage, slurry and viscous liquids. The
output is a standard 4–20 mA direct current, propor-
tional to the measured level. The sensor is therefore
well adapted to the prevalent control systems on the
market including, of course the Flygt controllers of
the APP, FGC ranges.

Features
• Low supply voltage - Suitable in a broad range of
installations, including battery operation.
• Compact design - The sensor body fits inside a 1
inch pipe. Approvals and Standards
• Resistance to grime and deposits. CE conformity
• Wearability and high resistance to chemicals (pH EMC directive 2004/108/CE In accordance with EN 61000-6-2,
EN 61000-6-3, EN 61326-1 (Tab.2)
4–12). Pressure directive 97/23/CE
• Attractive & robust design - Including laser printed
part number information. Protection rating IP 68

Vibration, IEC60068-2-6 1.5mm p.p (10-57 Hz),

The sensor is mounted hanging from its cable (C). To prevent it

from swinging violently due to turbulence and surge from pumps
and tank inlets, it is recommended to hang it inside a PVC pipe (D).
