Reflection

Overall for this essay I really enjoyed researching this topic in depth because it is

something I am very passionate about. During the visit to the library for the second time I was

ready to work with the databases so I was able to hit the ground running and find more in depth

and reliable sources for my topic. I think the absence of the one on one conferences was fine but

I personally missed the feedback that was given so personally I would like to do an optional one

on one in the future. I also think that the peer review was very positive for me not only to do but

also receive critiques on my essay. It was really nice to have a different set of eyes looking at my

paper. I also think the different perspective and from a non expert point of view that the critique

given was very beneficial towards my final product. My interview element was disrupted due to

the Covid-19 breakout and disruption from school but I did pull from previous discussions with

my professor who I was going to interview about my topic. I was able to pull examples that he

has told us about from his experience in the field that created a really vivid story for my essay

that I found were very beneficial to the final product. The guest speaker who came in I did find

interesting and he also gave great points but I think that I would’ve felt it was more helpful if I

would’ve actually been able to interview. Overall I was really happy with what I discovered

while doing this essay and I was really surprised how much physical evidence was actually

behind the topic that I was doing. Finally the topic of what has been happening with the

postponement of everything and the uncertainty I think that it has caused a lot of stress. Overall
the converting to online classes has been pretty stressful because I am personally not a good

online learner so I have been having to adjust and spend twice as much time on school work also

being stuck inside and alone isn’t helping the situation. But powering through is gonna get me

through this. Quarantine overall has been pretty hard because of the way that everything has been

treated on the news and the uncertainty of the future because it is not only affecting right now but

also my job over the summer, where i’ll be living, and my class schedule for the fall. I am also

really nervous about how the switch to online classes is going to be to me because I am a theatre

education major. The majority of the things I do in my major are so hands on and interactive that

it makes it very difficult to do this online. So currently the majority of my professors are trying

to rework schedules and use online resources in order to try to make up for not being in person

and doing everything hands on but ultimately I know I will struggle going into courses that will

build upon these because I am not experiencing it the way it was supposed to be experienced.
