CONTEXT/ From the discussions of Sir Ryan I have learned to be more patient when teaching and
TUTOR’S to not rush into it so since I have already finished in discussing to the students the
REFLECTION first, second, and third modules so for today I will be giving a review on it.

LESSON 2: Sentences
TOPIC
Dear Lord God, Our Almighty Father, we ask for forgiveness for all the sins that
we have committed. We thank you for giving us another to live Earth and we
also thank you for all the blessings and the gifts you’ve given us. And let us

pray for those who are in need and for the wellness of our Amazon Forest. May
you guide throughout this session that we may learn things today. In Jesus'
name, Amen.
Last session, my students and I had a short and informal review due to the time
SHORT REVIEW cut-offs so for this session I will give them a more formal and complete review
about sentences.
"Charades" is a parlor or party word guessing game. Originally, the game was a
MOTIVATIONAL dramatic form of literary charades: a single person would act out each syllable
ACTIVITY of a word or phrase in order, followed by the whole phrase together, while the
rest of the group guessed.
LESSON INTRODUCTION
DEVELOPMENT For the second session, the students will be taught about sentences and the
types of sentences as it can help them to use words in a sentence properly.
LESSON PROPER
1. A sentence is group of words that has a meaning. Words are put together to
express a complete thought.
2. A sentence has two parts, namely, subject and predicate. In the sentence
3. The subject is that part of the sentence that is talked about.
4. The predicate is that part of the sentence that says something about the subject.
5. The simple subject is the essential noun or pronoun (or group of words acting
as a noun) that cannot be left out of the complete subject. In the sentence in #
3.
6. The simple predicate is the essential verb or verb phrase that cannot be left out
of the complete predicate. In the sentence in # 3.
7. All sentences begin with capital letters and end with appropriate punctuation
marks depending on the kinds of sentences. (Statements and commands end
with periods. Questions end with question marks. Exclamatory sentences end
with exclamation points.)
8. A fragment is a group of words that does not express a complete thought.
9. A run-on is two or more complete sentences that are capitalized and punctuated
as if they were one.

Act as their editor, mark a C if the sentences in the group are all
complete and an F if any of the sentences in the group is a fragment.
____ 1. Then I attended Morris Junior High. A junior high that was a bad
experience.
____ 2. The scene was filled with beauty. Such as the sun sending its
brilliant rays to the earth and the leaves of various shades of red, yellow,
and brown moving slowly in the wind.
____ 3. He talked for fifty minutes without taking his eyes off his notes.
Like other teachers in that department, he did not encourage students'
questions.
____ 4. Within each group, a wide range of features to choose from. It
was difficult to distinguish between them.
____ 5. A few of the less serious fellows would go into a bar for a steak
dinner and a few glasses of beer. After this meal, they were ready for
anything.
____ 6. It can be really embarrassing to be so emotional. Especially
when you are on your first date, you feel that you should be in control.
____ 7. The magazine has a reputation for a sophisticated, prestigious,
and elite group of readers. Although that is a value judgment and in
circumstances not a true premise.

prove to himself and his parents that he is a man.

the time that we would never enter that door in her home again.
____10. As Christmas grows near, I find myself looking back into my

makes me happy.

best friends had a little too much to drink.

speed job to me.
____14. With my brother standing by my side, I reached for the pot
handle. Tilting the pot way too much caused the boiling water to spill.

CLOSURE
To end up this session, I will be giving an assignment on which they should
answer and too see if they have learned anything from my discussion.
INSTRUCTIONS: Give me 3 examples of Complete Sentences, and 3
ASSIGNMENT examples of Fragments. Write on any paper.
