7. Allow time for Opening Cone to fall to Stage Cementing Tool, normally about 1 minute for 200 ft. Allow additional
falling time for heavier fluids.
8. Pressure up to 700 to 1000 psi to open Stage Tool (400 to 700 psi for 16” thru 20” Stage Tools). When the Stage
Tool opens, establish circulation to condition hole. If Stage Tool does not to open, release pressure, allow additional
time for Opening Cone to reach Stage Tool, then repeat pressure build up.
OPTIONS: If the stage tool does not open at the set pressure, then determine if the opening cone is seated in the tool
by comparing pump strokes or bleed-back volume to values recorded when bumping the first stage plug
(applying identical pressures). If count or volume is less than before, this is an indication that the cone is
seated and additional pressure can be applied to open the tool (do not exceed safe limits of the stage tool,
casing or cementing head). If the count or volume is the same as before, this is an indication that the cone
has not reached the seat or not seated properly. Action to advance the cone further down the casing
should be employed, such as surging (applying pressure rapidly), pipe manipulation, or use of a sinker bar.
9. After opening tool and conditioning hole, mix and pump second stage cement.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the stage tool by comparing circulation pressure recorded when the First
Stage Plug landed.
10. After pumping cement, release 751E Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cement lines may
be washed before displacement.)
11. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid to seat Closing Plug in Stage Tool.
NOTE: The Closing Plug should be landed at a flow rate in barrels per minute (bpm) equal to one-half the casing
diameter, in inches, up to a maximum of 8 bpm and a minimum of 3 bpm.
12. When Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure is
achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required as
needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

5. Release Shut-Off Plug on top of First Stage Cement. (Cement lines may be washed before displacement.)
6. Pump the calculated amount of displacement fluid and bump Shut-Off Plug. To seal plug and test casing, pressure up
to 500 psi above circulating pressure. Shut-off plugs may be taken to higher pressure to test casing integrity, contact
Engineering for maximum pressures.
A. Always record the rate and pressure required to pump plugs prior to bumping. Also record the volume or stroke
count required to achieve the 500 psi above the circulating pressure and the volume of bleed-back when pressure
is released (This information may later be required to determine if the opening cone reached the opening seat).
B. Flexible plugs may be pumped through the Stage Tool at flow rates of up to 10 bpm.
7. Release pressure and check float valves for flow back. With float valves holding, open plug container and drop 751E
free-Fall Opening Cone, after removing eyebolt from it.
NOTE: 751E Closing Plug can be preloaded in plug container if retaining mechanism is sufficient to retain plug in

15. If excessive and continued bleed-back is observed, “run-into” the Stage Tool with a higher pump rate and/or pressure.
Check again for closure as above. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)
OPTIONS: If excessive bleed-back continues with no drop in surface pressure after several attempts to close Stage
Tool, or if the pressure drops off when applying pressure to the Closing Plug, it is recommended that the
casing be shut-in at the surface after releasing 50’ to 100’ of cement back into the casing. (This could be
a result of a casing leak. The cement may seal off the leak path.)

6. Continue pumping displacement fluid. When sufficient displacement fluid has been pumped, the Pump-Down
Opening Plug will seat on Stage Tool Opening Seat. When the plug is seated, a pressure of 400 to 1000 psi above
circulating pressure will open the Stage Tool. (Because of the inertia of the fluid being pumped this pressure may not
show on the surface.)

B. The Bypass Plug may be pumped through the Stage Tool at a flow rate of up to 10 bpm.
C. The Pump-Down Opening Plug should be landed at a flow rate 1 to 2 bpm to allow for controlled opening of the
stage tool.
7. After Stage Tool opens, circulation should be continue to condition hole.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the Stage Tool by comparing circulation pressure recorded when the Shut-Off
Plug Landed.
8. After conditioning hole, mix and pump second stage cement.
9. After pumping cement, release 751E Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cement lines may

volume of bleed-back when pressure is released (This information may be required to determine if the opening
cone reached the opening seat).
15. With lower Stage Tool closed, open plug container and drop 751E Free-Fall Opening Cone after removing eyebolt
from it.
NOTE: The 751E Closing Plug can be pre-loaded in plug container if retaining mechanism is sufficient to retain plug in
cementing head. It is recommended that a positive plug release indicator (tattletale, flag, etc.) be used but
only if it does not interfere with the sealing ability of the plug fins.
16. Allow time for 751E Opening Cone to fall to Stage Cementing Tool, normally about 1 minute per 200 ft. Allow
additional falling time for heavier fluids.
17. Pressure up to 700 to 1000 psi to open the 751E Stage tool (400 to 700 psi for 16” thru 20” Stage Tools). When the
Stage Tool opens, establish circulation to condition hole. If Stage Tool does not to open, release pressure, allow
additional time for Opening Cone to reach Stage Tool, then repeat pressure buildup.
18. After opening tool and conditioning hole, mix and pump third stage cement.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the upper Stage Tool by comparing circulation pressure recorded prior to
landing the 752E closing plug.
19. After pumping cement, release 751E Flexible Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cement
lines may be washed before displacement.)
20. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid to seat Closing Plug in the 751E Stage Tool.
NOTE: The Closing Plug should be landed at a flow rate in barrels per minute (bpm) equal to one-half the casing
diameter, in inches, up to a maximum of 8 bpm and a minimum of 3 bpm.
21. When Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure is
achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required as
needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

22. Check to determine whether the Stage Tool has closed by releasing pressure and observing the volume of fluid bleed-
back.
(This could be a

5. Pump a measured amount of displacement fluid equal to 90% of the volume in the casing from the float collar to the
752E Stage Cementing Tool, then open cement plug container and release 752E Pump-Down Opening Plug on top of
displacement fluid.
NOTE: The 752E Closing Plug may be preloaded in the plug container if retaining mechanism is sufficient to retain
plug in cementing head. It is recommended that a positive indicator (tattletale, flag, etc.) be used but only if it
does not interfere with the sealing ability of the plug fins.
6. Continue pumping displacement fluid. When sufficient displacement fluid has been pumped, the Pump-Down
Opening Plug will seat on the Stage Tool Opening Seat. When the plug is seated, increase pressure to 700-1000 psi
above circulating pressure to open the Stage Tool. (Because of the inertia of the fluid being pumped, this pressure
may not show on the surface.)
NOTES:
A. Always record the rate and pressure required to pump plugs prior to bumping. Also record the volume or stroke
count required to achieve the 500 psi above the circulating pressure and the volume of bleed-back when pressure
is released (This information may later be required to determine if the opening cone reached the opening seat).
B. The Bypass Plug may be pumped through the Stage Tool at a flow rate of up to 10 bpm.
C. The Pump-Down Opening Plug should be landed at a flow rate 1 to 2 bpm to allow for controlled opening of the
stage tool.
7. After Stage Tool opens, circulation should be continued to condition hole.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the Stage Tool by comparing circulation pressure recorded when the Shut-Off
Plug Landed.
8. After conditioning hole, mix and pump Second-Stage Cement.
9. After pumping cement, release 752E Flexible Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cement
lines may be washed before displacement.)
11. When Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure is
achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required as

3. After casing is landed and circulated, mix and pump first stage cement.
NOTE: The Shut-off Plug and the 754 Flexible Closing Plug can be pre-loaded if retaining mechanism is sufficient to
retain plug in cementing head. It is recommended that a positive plug release indicator (tattletale, flag, etc) be
used but only if it does not interfere with the sealing ability of the plug fins.
4. Drop 754 Shut-Off Plug on top of the first stage cement. (Cement lines may be washed before displacement.)
5. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid and bump Shut-Off Plug. To seal plug and test casing, pressure up to
500 psi above circulating pressure.
A. Always record flow rate and pressure required to pump plug prior to bumping.
B. The Shut-Off Plug may be pumped through the stage tool at flow rates of up to 10 bpm.
6. Release pressure and check float valves for flow back. Proceed only after float valves are holding or cement is set.
7. Apply pressure to casing until 754 Stage Tool opens (Refer to specifications furnished with tool for stage tool opening
pressure). Surface pressure required to open tool is equal to the specified stage tool opening pressure less the
internal static pressure at the tool (casing fluid height in ft. X density in ppg X .052) plus the annular static pressure at
the tool (annular fluid height in ft. X density in ppg X .052)
8. When stage tool opens, establish circulation to condition hole, then mix and pump second stage cement.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the stage tool by comparing to circulation pressure recorded when the Shut-
off Plug landed.
9. After pumping cement, release 754 Flexible Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head.
11. When Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure is
achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required as
needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)
15. Allow time for Opening Cone to fall to Stage Cementing Tool, normally about 1 minute per 200 ft. Allow additional
falling time for heavier fluids.
17. After pumping cement, release 751E Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cement may be
washed before displacement).
18. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid to seat Closing Plug in 751E Stage Tool.
NOTE: The Closing Plug should be landed at a flow rate in barrels per minute (bpm) equal to one-half the casing
diameter, in inches, up to a maximum of 8 bpm and a minimum of 3 bpm.
19. When Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure is
achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required as
needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

6. Drop 754 Shut-Off Plug on top of first stage cement and pump displacement fluid. (Cement lines may be washed
before displacement.)
7. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid. Lower pump rate to 2 to 3 bpm just prior to landing the 754 Shut-Off
Plug on the baffle.
A. Always record flow rate and pressure required to pump plug prior to bumping.
B. The Shut-Off Plug may be pumped through the stage tool at flow rates of up to 10 bpm.
8. When the plug lands, allow the pressure to slowly increase to 50% to 75% of the calculated ACP opening pressure
and hold that pressure for 2 to 5 minutes. Record volume in displacement tank.
9. Inflate ACP following manufacturer’s recommended procedure. (This may involve slowly increasing the pressure in
250 psi/min incremented stages to the calculated ACP opening pressure, then holding for 10 minutes without allowing
the pressure to drop more than 250 psi.) Record volume in displacement tank.
10. Bleed surface pressure to pressure in Step 8 and compare to prior volume in displacement tank to determine net
inflation volume. (Volume change in displacement may not be noticeable on short ACP’s.)
NOTE: Repeat steps 8 through 10 for multiple ACP applications.
11. Apply pressure to casing until stage tool opens (Refer to specifications furnished with tool for stage tool opening
pressure). Surface pressure required to open tool is equal to the specified stage tool opening pressure less the
internal static pressure at the tool (casing fluid height in ft. X density in ppg X .052) plus the annular static pressure at
the tool (annular fluid height in ft. X density in ppg X .052).
OPTIONS: If the ACP inflation valve fails, pressure cannot be increased sufficiently to open the stage tool, and
sufficient circulation can be established to displace a plug, a Pump-Down Opening Plug may be displaced
to the hydraulic sleeve to open the stage tool. Otherwise, a free-fall opening cone can be used to gravitate
to the hydraulic opening sleeve, or it can be mechanically pushed to the opening seat in highly deviated
wells. In these situations, the opening pressure will be lower than hydraulic opening setting pressure by
approximately 1/3 the set pressure.
12. When stage tool opens, establish circulation to condition hole, then mix and pump second stage cement. (If optional
pump-down opening plug is used as a spacer, release it ahead of the second stage cement.)
13. After pumping cement, release Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cement lines may be
washed before displacement.)
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the stage tool by comparing to circulation pressure recorded when the Shut-
Off Plug landed.
14. When Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure is
achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required as
needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

16. If excessive and continued bleed-back is observed, "run into" the Stage Tool with a higher pump rate and/or pressure.
Check again for closure as above. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)
OPTIONS: If excessive bleed-back continues with no drop in surface pressure after several attempts to close the
stage tool, or if the pressure drops off when applying pressure to the closing plug, it is recommended that
the casing be shut-in at the surface after releasing 50’ to 100’ of cement back into the casing. (This could
be a result of a casing leak. The cement may seal off the leak path.)

4. Make up the liner or casing hanger tight in the casing and set the joint aside while the remainder of the casing is being
run.
5. Preload top and bottom darts into the Weatherford SSR cementing head.
NOTE: The bottom dart, which is loaded into the lower most section of the cementing head to be released first, has a
smaller nose OD than the top dart.
6. Install the 754 Shut-Off Baffle or Landing Collar at the desired location in the casing string below the stage tool.
NOTE: Install 8-RD or BTC Shut-Off Baffle in coupling or float collar box thread with taper up.
7. While running casing, install the Stage Tool at the desired location in the casing string.
8. Make up the last joint of casing with the plug set and liner or casing hanger.
9. Run the liner or casing to the desired depth with drill pipe and make up SSR Cementing Head to last joint of drill pipe.
10. Land casing following manufacturer’s recommendations for casing hangers or mechanical set liner hangers. Circulate
to condition hole.
NOTE: Do not exceed maximum flow rate at any time. (See chart below for maximum flow rate recommendation) Do
not exceed 85% of liner hanger or Stage Tool setting/opening pressures while circulating to prevent
premature operation.

20. Displace the top dart. Record the volume of displacement fluid pumped behind the dart when it engages the Closing
Plug, and the pressure required to release the Closing Plug.
NOTE: Approximately 2000 psi is required to release the Closing Plug. Reduce displacement flow rate to 2 to 4 bpm
when landing dart in Closing Plug.
22. When the Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure
is achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required
as needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

2. Make up the plug set on the swivel equalizer and/or hanger stinger. Do not apply weight to the plug set during make
up.
3. Install the plug set in the casing using grease or soap as a lubricant. Do not cock, bend, or retrieve the plug set after
the bottom plug has started in the casing.
6. Install the 754 Shut-Off Baffle or Landing Collar at the desired location in the casing string below the ACP and stage
tool.
NOTES:
A. Install 8-RD or BTC Shut-Off Baffle in coupling or float collar box thread with taper up.
B. For applications with Slotted Liner below ACP, position the Shut-Off Baffle or Landing Collar a minimum of 100
feet below the ACP.
7. While running casing, install the ACP and then the Stage Tool at the desired locations in the casing string. The ACP
can be installed directly below the stage tool.
NOTE: Do not place tongs on any part of Stage Tool or ACP.
(See chart below for maximum flow rate recommendation) Do
not exceed 85% of liner hanger, ACP, or Stage Tool setting/opening pressures while circulating to prevent
premature operation.
11. Mix and pump first stage cement. Omit references to first stage cementing if well plan does not require cementing of
liner section below the stage tool.
12. Release the Bottom Dart, for the First Stage Shut-Off Plug, on top of first stage cement. If using the SSR Cementing
Head, back out the bottom dart release plunger (normally 29 1/4 turns) and record the number of turns required to
release the dart.
13. Displace the Bottom Dart. Record the volume of displacement fluid pumped behind the dart, when it engages the
First Stage Shut-Off Plug, and the pressure required to release the First Stage Shut-Off Plug.
NOTE: Approximately 700 to 1500 psi is required to release the First Stage Shut-Off Plug. Reduce displacement
flow rate to 2 to 4 bpm when landing dart in First Stage Shut-Off Plug.
14. Circulate until the First Stage Shut-Off Plug seats in the baffle plate or landing collar. (The Shut-Off Plug may be
pumped through the stage tool at flow rates up to the maximum flow rate specified above.
15. Pressure up to 500 psi above circulating pressure to insure plug has landed. Record the total displacement volume.

16. If using hydraulic set liner hanger, set according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
NOTE: Do not exceed 85% of ACP setting pressure when setting liner hanger. Check to insure liner hanger is set
before proceeding.
17. Apply pressure to set the ACP according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
NOTE: Do not exceed 85% of Stage Tool opening pressure when setting ACP.
18. Apply pressure to casing until stage tool opens. Surface pressure required to open tool is equal to the specified stage
tool opening pressure less the internal static pressure at the tool (casing fluid height in ft. x density in ppg x .052) plus
the annular static pressure at the tool (annular fluid height in ft. x density in ppg x .052).
19. When stage tool opens, establish circulation to condition hole, then mix and pump cement.
20. After pumping cement, release Top Dart. If using SSR cementing head, back out the top dart releasing plunger
(normally 29 1/4 turns), and record the number of turns required to release the dart.
NOTE: The top dart release plunger may be hard to release if the well is on vacuum.
23. When the Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure
is achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required
as needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

* There is an Inner Sleeve in the P.O.S.T. that shifts between 400 and 600 PSI and allows the element to begin
inflating (shifting pressure is lower for POST than standard Model 751E stage tools). Removal of the internal
shear screws will reduce the initial shift/inflating pressure. The maximum inner sleeve opening pressure shown in
the P.O.S.T. specifications should be used in step #4 of the calculation above.
** The minimum number of external shear screws recommended is 5 for the 5-1/2” and 9-5/8” sizes and 7 for 13-
3/8” and 18-5/8”, unless special measures have been taken to reduce the number of internal shear screws. If the
fluid level in the annulus is not accurately known, do a calculation based on the lowest anticipated fluid level. If
the calculated differential pressure is greater than the External Sleeve shear pressure, as calculated for #4, the
external sleeve may open before the packer is fully set.
NOTE: Removing internal screws to reduce the opening pressure; also reduces the closing pressure. For
opening, the internal shear screws consist of active and non-active shear screws. Only the active shear screws
(full threaded screw) should be removed to reduce the opening pressure. Active shear screws are a full-threaded
screw, and the non-active shear screws have a turned down point. Reinstall the non-active shear screws if
removed because they are for closing the tool.
PROCEDURE
1. If a rubber Seal-Off Plate is to be used, place it on top of the float equipment upon which the First Stage Plug will land.
NOTE: The rubber Seal-Off Plate may be used on float equipment with flat landing surfaces only. It should not be
used on 4-1/2” or 5” equipment or on equipment with tapered surfaces, such as ball-activated differential and
automatic fill equipment or insert equipment.
While running casing, install the Pack-Off Stage Cementing Tool at the desired location in the casing string.
NOTE:
A. Tongs may be placed only on the mandrel of the POST between the element and the pin thread.
B. If placed in open hole, the POST should be placed in a near-gage section as determined by caliper logs.
Differential pressure charts should be consulted to verify pressure rating across inflated packer element at
measured ID.
2. After casing is landed and circulated, mix and pump first stage cement.
NOTES: Do not pre-load First Stage Plug with half round nose.
3. Open cement plug container. Release First Stage Plug on top of the first stage cement. (Cement lines may be
washed before displacement.)
4. Pump calculated amount of displacement and bump First Stage Plug. To seal plug and test casing, pressure up to
500 psi above circulating pressure.
A. Always record the rate and pressure required to pump plugs prior to bumping. Also record the volume or stroke
count required to achieve the 500 psi (or the maximum bump pressure) above the circulating pressure and the
volume of bleed-back when pressure is released (This information may later be required to determine if the
opening cone reached the opening seat in the POST).
B. Flexible plugs may be pumped through the Pack-Off Stage Tool at flow rates of up to 10 bpm.
5. Release pressure and check float valves for flow back. With float valves holding, open plug container and drop 751E
Free-Fall Opening Cone after removing eyebolt from it.
NOTE: The 751E Closing Plug can be pre-loaded in plug container if retaining mechanism is sufficient to retain
plug in cementing head. It is recommended that a positive plug release indicator (tattletale, flag, etc.) be
used but only if it does not interfere with the sealing ability of the plug fins.
6. Allow time for Opening Cone to fall to Pack-Off Stage Cementing Tool, normally about 1 minute per 200 ft (or 5
minutes per 1000 ft.) Allow additional falling time for heavier fluids.

7. Pressure up to the lowest anticipated initial shift pressure (normally 400 to 700 PSI), and increase pressure slowly
until an indication of the initial shift is seen, or the maximum shift pressure (1000 PSI) is reached (do not exceed the
external sleeve set pressure). Indications of shift would be:
A. A momentary drop in pressure as the sleeve shifts down.
B. A decrease in weight on the weight indicator as the packer begins to inflate.
NOTE: An easy check to determine if the opening cone is seated is to compare the fluid volume from bumping the
first stage plug to that of the volume being returned when trying to open the tool (applying the same
pressure). If the volumes are near equal, then the cone is not properly seated in the tool. Allow additional
time for the cone to fall the attempt to pressure again. A sinker bar on wire line can be use to tag the cone
and knock it into the seat.
8. Maintain 700 to 800 PSI for 1 to 2 minutes after initial shift to allow the packer to fully inflate.
NOTE: A slow pressure drop may continue to occur after the initial packer inflation due to bleed off through the vent
port, which equalizes the external sleeve while casing is run into the hole.
9. Increase pressure slowly at increments of 200 psi per minute to allow for packer inflation until the External Sleeve
shifts open, allowing circulation into the annulus.
10. After conditioning hole, mix and pump second stage cement.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the stage tool by comparing circulation pressure to the pressure recorded just
prior to landing the First Stage Plug.
11. After pumping cement, release 751E Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cementing lines
may be washed before displacement.)
13. When the Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement pressure
is achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of displacement pressures; higher pressures may be required
as needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cement head.)

PROCEDURE
1. Install the Shut-Off Baffle in a coupling or install landing collar with Shut-Off baffle at desired location in casing string.
For 8-round and Buttress casing, the screw-in baffles can be placed in box connection of most Weatherford float
equipment.
NOTE: Install insert baffle with taper facing up

back.
16. If excessive bleed-back is observed, “run into” the Stage Tool with a higher pump rate and/or pressure. Check again
for closure as above.

When sufficient displacement fluid has been pumped, the Pump-Down
Opening Plug will seat on the Pack-Off Stage Tool Opening Seat. When the plug is seated a pressure of 400 to 1000
psi above the circulating pressure will open the stage tool. (Because of inertia of the fluid being pumped this pressure
may not show on the surface.)
A. Always record the rate and pressure required to pump plugs prior to bumping. Also record the volume or
stroke count required to achieve the 500 psi (or the maximum bump pressure) above the circulating pressure
and the volume of bleed-back when pressure is released (This information may later be required to determine
if the opening cone reached the opening seat in the POST).
B. Flexible plugs may be pumped through the Pack-Off Stage Tool at flow rates of up to 10 bpm.
C. The Pump Down Opening Plug should be landed at a flow rate of 1 to 2 bpm to allow for a slow controllable
increase in pressure.
7. Pressure up to the lowest anticipated initial shift pressure (normally 400-700 PSI), and increase pressure slowly until
an indication of the initial shift is seen, or the maximum shift pressure (1000 PSI) is reached (do not exceed the

9. Increase pressure slowly, in increments of 200 psi per minute to allow for full packer inflation, until the External Sleeve
shifts open allowing circulation into the annulus.
10. After conditioning hole, mix and pump second stage cement.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the stage tool by comparing circulation pressure to the pressure recorded just
prior to landing the First Stage Plug.

volume of bleed-back when pressure is released (This information may later be required to determine if the
opening cone reached the opening seat in the POST).
B. Flexible plugs may be pumped through the Pack-Off Stage Tool at flow rates of up to 10 bpm.
6. Release pressure and check float valves for flow back. With float valves holding, open plug container and drop the
752 Free-Falling Opening Cone, after removing the eyebolt from it.
NOTE: The 752E Closing Plug can be pre-loaded in plug container if retaining mechanism is sufficient to retain plug
in cementing head. It is recommended that a positive plug release indicator (tattletale, flag, etc.) be used but
only if it does not interfere with the sealing ability of the plug fins.
7. Allow time for 752E Opening Cone to fall to Stage Cementing Tool, normally about 1 minute per 200 ft. Allow
additional falling time for heavier fluids
8. Pressure up to the lowest anticipated initial shift pressure (normally 400 to 700 PSI above final circulating pressure),
and increase pressure slowly until an indication of the initial shift is seen, or the maximum shift pressure (1000 PSI
over final circulating pressure) is reached. Indications of shift would be:
A. A momentary drop in pressure as the sleeve shifts down.
B. A decrease in weight on the weight indicator as the packer begins to inflate.
9. Maintain 700 to 800 PSI over final circulation pressure for 1 to 2 minutes after initial shift to allow the packer to fully
inflate.
NOTE: A slow pressure drop may continue to occur after the initial packer inflation due to bleed off through the vent
port, which equalizes the external sleeve while casing is run into the hole.
10. Increase pressure slowly, in increments of 200 psi per minute to allow for full packer inflation, until the External Sleeve
shifts open allowing circulation into the annulus.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the lower POST tool by comparing circulation pressure to the pressure
recorded just prior to landing the First Stage Plug.
11. After conditioning hole, mix and pump second stage cement.
12. After pumping cement, release the 752 Flexible Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head.
(Cementing lines may be washed before displacement.)
13. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid to seat Closing Plug in the 782 Pack-Off Stage Tool.
NOTE: The Closing Plug should be landed at a flow rate in barrels per minute (bpm) equal to one-half the casing
diameter, in inches, up to a maximum of 8 bpm and a minimum of 3 bpm.
14. When the 782 Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over final displacement
pressure is achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of the displacement pressures; higher pressures may
be required as needed. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cementing head.)

20. When the 751E Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement
pressure is achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of he displacement pressure; higher pressures may
be required as needed. (Do not exceed the safe limits of casing or cement head.)
21. Check to determine whether the Stage Tool has closed by releasing pressure and observing the volume of fluid bleed-
back.
22. If excessive and continued bleed-back is observed, “run-into” the Stage Tool with a higher pump rate and/ or
pressure. Check again for closure as above. (Do not exceed safe limits of casing or cementing head.)
OPTION: If excessive bleed-back continues with no drop in surface pressure after several attempts to close stage
tool, or if the pressure drops off when applying pressure to the closing plug, it is recommended that the
casing be shut-in at the surface after releasing 50’ to 100’ of cement back into the casing. (This could be a
result of a casing leak. The cement may seal off the leak path.)

5. Pump a measured amount of displacement fluid equal to 90% of the volume in the casing from the float collar, or
landing baffle if applicable, to the 782 Pack-Off Stage Tool. Open the cement plug container and release the Pump
Down Opening Plug on top of the displacement fluid.
C. The Pump Down Opening Plug should be landed at a flow rate of 1-2 BPM to allow for a slow controllable
increase in pressure.
6. Continue pumping displacement fluid. When sufficient displacement fluid has been pumped, the Pump-Down
Opening Plug will seat on the 782 Pack-Off Stage Tool Opening Seat.
10. After conditioning hole, mix and pump second stage cement.
11. After pumping cement, release the 752 Flexible Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head.
(Cementing lines may be washed before displacement.)
12. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid to seat Closing Plug in the 782 Pack-Off Stage Tool.
NOTE: The Closing Plug should be landed at a flow rate in barrels per minute (bpm) equal to one-half the casing

14. Check to determine whether the Stage Tool has closed by releasing pressure and observing the volume of fluid bleed-
back.
A. Always record flow rate and pressure required to pump plugs prior to bumping. Also record the volume or stroke
count required to achieve the 500 psi (or the maximum bump pressure) above the circulating pressure and the
volume of bleed-back when pressure is released (This information may be required to determine if the opening
cone reached the opening seat).
15. If excessive is observed, “run-into” the Stage Tool with a higher pump rate and/ or pressure. Check again for closure
as above.
16. With lower POST tool closed, open the cementing head and drop 751E Free-Falling Opening cone after removing
eyebolt from it.
NOTE: 751E Closing Plug can be preloaded in plug container if retaining mechanism is sufficient to retain plug in
cementing head. It is recommended that a positive plug release indicator (tattletale, flat, etc.) be used.
17. Allow time for Opening Cone to fall to the upper 781 Pack-Off Stage Cementing Tool, normally about 1 minute per
200 ft. Allow additional falling time for heavier fluids.
18. Pressure up to the lowest anticipated initial shift pressure (normally 400 to 700 PSI), and increase pressure slowly
until an indication of the initial shift is seen, or the maximum shift pressure (1000 PSI) is reached. Indications of shift
would be:
A. A momentary drop in pressure as the sleeve shifts down.
B. A decrease in weight on the weight indicator as the packer begins to inflate.
20. Increase pressure slowly, in increments of 200 psi per minute to allow for full packer inflation, until the External Sleeve
shifts open allowing circulation into the annulus.
NOTE: Verify you are pumping through the upper POST tool by comparing circulation pressure to the pressure
recorded just prior to landing the First Stage Plug or the lower POST tool Closing Plug.
21. After conditioning hole, mix and pump third stage cement.
22. After pumping cement, release 751E Closing Plug and verify that plug has left cementing head. (Cementing lines
may be washed before displacement.)
23. Pump calculated amount of displacement fluid to seat Closing Plug in the 781 Pack-Off Stage Tool.
NOTE: The Closing Plug should be landed at a flow rate in barrels per minute (bpm) equal to one-half the casing
diameter, in inches, up to a maximum of 8 bpm and a minimum of 3 bpm.
21. When the 751E Closing Plug seats, continue pumping until the pressure indicated below in psi over displacement
pressure is achieved. These are minimum pressures in excess of he displacement pressure; higher pressures may

Revision A 29-Aug-03
The purpose of this procedure is to establish policy, responsibility, and procedures for the reporting and correcting
of problems encountered with Products and Services delivered to customers, both internal and external.
1.1 This procedure should be used for problems requiring follow-up and/or investigation or product-related
items. If the solution is simple and straightforward, it should be implemented and use of this procedure is
not required.
1.2 This procedure should not be used to relate personal injuries, auto accidents, or related issues.
2.0 SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to all Products and Services provided by Weatherford relating to delivery or use of
the product or service.
3.0 PROCEDURE
3.1 Problems involving materials, workmanship, design, manufacture, quality control, shipping, functionality,
operating procedures, service related issues, job related issues or other items shall be reported in writing.
3.2 ALL Incidents involving the above categories shall be reported using the Weatherford “Product/Service
Incident Report” form included in this procedure. Additional reports such as Job Reports, Field Reports,
Manufacturing Reports, etc., may be attached if beneficial.
3.3 The report shall be initiated by the Weatherford employee in contact with the customer associated with
the problem. This employee’s Regional Manager, or a person designated by him, shall be responsible
for tracking follow-up to insure that the appropriate Corrective Action steps are fully completed, reported
internally, and to the customer in a timely manner, and that a final corrective action review is completed in
a timely manner and the Incident Report is closed.
3.3.1 The initiator shall complete the attached form in as detailed a manner as possible so that all pertinent
facts concerning the occurrence are provided. This person shall be sure to include: equipment
identification, purchase order, part numbers, job information, special requirements, special circumstances
etc.
Note: Attach supplemental information to this form where it is helpful in understanding or correcting the
problem. Reference should be made to attachments in the text of the form.
3.4 Routing is especially important in view of the fact that many times follow-up must be carried out by
persons in other divisions. Routing shall be as follows:
3.4.1 Initiator shall send the original to his Regional Manager. The Regional Manager shall review it and
approve it. Either the Regional Manager or a person designated shall determine if it can be handled
locally or it needs to be assigned to other areas of Weatherford for investigation and follow-up. This
person shall insure that it is tracked and routed to other appropriate divisions.
3.4.2 The Regional Manager, or a person designated by him, shall route a copy to the Product or Service
Coordinator as listed in Table I, if it cannot be resolved locally. If it involves an administrative issue that
can be handled on a local level, no distribution is necessary.

§ Copy to engineering
§ Copy to Product Service General Manager
§ Upon conclusion of investigation and evaluation, the coordinator will see that a final report routed
as follows:
· General Manager
· Regional Q.A. Manager
· Regional Manager
· Initiator
· The Regional Manager shall insure that appropriate feedback is provided to the
customer.
3.5 Normally, the Regional Manager will assign the local Quality Assurance Manager the responsibility to
track and insure follow up. This person shall be clearly designated by the Regional Manager to insure
that “Product/Service Incident Reports” are properly routed and tracked.
3.6 The Quality Assurance Manager of the Region, or others as designated, will be responsible for reviewing
all the facts of the occurrence in order to identify the factors contributing to the problem and its root
cause. This analysis and review will be complete and will detail all aspects including manufacturing
procedures, quality procedures, field procedures, together with field and technical aspects of the incident.
The Quality Assurance Manager will involve other personnel as needed.
3.6.1 In the case of a product quality problem, this responsibility may be delegated to the Coordinator or Quality
Assurance Manager of the Product Division at the plant level. This responsibility shall be clearly indicated
on the Incident Report form where it asks, “Who Should Investigate?”
3.7 The Quality Assurance Manager or Coordinator responsible for the Investigation will be required to see
that a written report is issued to the Manager with copies to the Initiator, other managers affected and
other divisions affected. Such report will detail what specific items were responsible for the problem,
where this can be defined, and will suggest corrective action steps.
3.8 The Quality Assurance Manager or Coordinator will maintain a file with numerical identification and filing
of all incident reports received and reported on. Such file will be maintained in his office for review.
3.9 A Log Number shall be assigned by the Region to every Incident Report by the Quality Assurance
Manager or the person designated of the Region submitting the report.
3.10 The Regional Manager of the person initiating the report shall determine “Who should Investigate” the
incident. Normally this will be either the Regional Quality Assurance Manager or the Quality Assurance
Manager or Coordinator of the manufacturing plant involved.
3.11 Be sure to clarify on the report other issues involved. These would include: timing, modifications to
equipment, other mitigating circumstances, invoices pending, threats of contract cancellation pending
response by certain dates, or other such items.
3.12 Other factors involved shall be completed on the form, but this shall relate to circumstances on the job.
Field personnel should NOT try to make engineering decisions or procedure evaluations in this section.
In summary, field personnel should gather facts and relate them, but not make product or operating
decisions.
