 Introduction
To understand the role of English in the modern world, first of all, you
need to know the history of its creation. The creator of the most
popular and sought-after Oxford Dictionary identified 5 major events
that influenced the formation of the language. It's no secret that
finding out exactly how the language was formed is almost
impossible. It is known that the German invaders came and settled in
Great Britain in the 5th century AD. They spoke Germanic language.
Specialists have a small amount of information about this period. This
is due to the fact that no written archives and documents of that time
were found. The formation of dialects is confirmed by sources of the
7-9th century. They all refer to the language that Alfred the Great
called English in the 9th century. Some experts believe that Celtic
influenced the development of the English language. Since the mid-
9th century, the Norwegian invaders settled in Britain. It is believed
that the speech of the Scandinavians had a strong influence on the
development of the English language. For several centuries after the
Norman conquest, significant changes took place in the English
language. The inflectional system formed during that period is used
today. According to it, in English, the generic endings of words
characteristic of grammar are almost not used. The changes affected
the vocabulary. Borrowings from other languages are known, which
eventually began to appear in written language. In the late medieval
and modern period, there were steady processes of standardization
of the English language. Writing and speaking continued to change.
The so-called great movement of the vowels has occurred. Since the
beginning of the seventeenth century, the influence of the English
language has been felt throughout the world. Over time, people from
different countries began to use it.

considered the most commonly used language. More than 450
million people consider him native. Another 600-650 million people
use English as an additional language for communication. It is
considered to be in demand in many countries of the world.
Knowledge of the vocabulary and grammar of a given language is
essential in order to study abroad. Do not do without him and those
wishing to find a prestigious and well-paid job. English plays a big role
in our lives. It forms a society that is developing and striving for
everything new every year and generation.

Today, a translator from English into Russian is characterized by a

high and stable income. As a rule, such specialists work in large and
influential companies. The profession of translator is perfect for
those people who have: a predisposition to foreign languages; good
memory; good diction; perseverance; sociability; diplomatic qualities,
and also have developed hearing and are able to imitate. A qualified
specialist is often sent to earn money abroad. He can easily apply for
citizenship there, and also have a stable and high income. Work for
people who speak English. Knowledge of English plays an important
role in many areas. Many students underestimate its importance.
Most often, specialists with knowledge of a foreign language are
needed in the field of education and science. Students who wish to
connect their lives with information technology should have the
highest level of English. Work for English speakers is almost always in
large companies. It requires specialist translators. Some firms are
ready to train promising candidates at their own expense. Knowledge
of the English language is also necessary for secretaries, as in large
companies they often contact international partners. Do not do
without foreign and tourism workers. Knowledge of English and
wages, not everyone knows that many employers are willing to pay
more to employees who speak English. According to studies,
candidates with knowledge of foreign earn about 10-40% more than
their colleagues. It is worth noting that in some companies only those
employees who speak English are hired. Students with knowledge of
English have a huge advantage. Some firms, including large ones, are
ready to hire inexperienced specialists and provide them with high
wages if they own a foreign one.

      The value of the English language in the modern world is so great

that its knowledge is not a privilege or luxury. Once computers, as
well as mobile phones, could only be afforded by people of a certain
social stratum. Now such things are essentials. The same can be said
of English. It is taught by everyone and everywhere: in schools,
universities, courses. It is understood that any educated person is
simply obliged to speak English, as it is he who is his key to further
self-education and self-improvement. So now there are so many
organizations offering to teach you English. However, you should not
think that doing so is so easy. Learning any language is a long process
that requires certain mental expenses.

Still, learning English is worth it. Do you want to travel and

communicate freely with people of different nationalities? Do you
want to become a student of a foreign university? Want a prestigious
career promotion job? Or maybe you want to work abroad? One tip -
learn English. Indeed, over time, you will still realize that 75% of
world correspondence is carried out in English, 80% of information
on computers is also stored in this language, and most international
documents, articles, literary works, and instructions are written in
English. And we have not yet taken into account the film industry and
the musical Olympus. American-made films have firmly entered our
lives, and any pop singer considers it prestigious to sing at least one
song in English.
Knowledge of English in the modern world is a kind of window into
the world. Knowing this language of international communication,
you can achieve your goals with the help of new opportunities. And
you will certainly understand that the meaning of the English
language is not exaggerated.

The role of English in study and work

It's no secret that today English is an international language. In most
Kyrgyz schools, English is the second language learning subject (after
Kyrgyz), and many children begin to learn it even in preschool age. In
all countries of the world, learning English is of great importance. It is
studied in schools, universities, as well as in places of additional
education and at various courses.

English is needed for students who want a decent education, and

higher education institutions provide compulsory courses to achieve
the required level of English for a particular specialty. The received
document on education is quoted in all countries. For example,
having a diploma from the University of London, a graduate can get a
prestigious job anywhere in the world.

In large companies, when working for a highly paid position,

knowledge of a certain level of the English language is also required.
This is due to the fact that large firms and organizations are in
demand on the international market, where without knowledge of
English it will not be possible to represent your company, enter into
contracts and transactions, carry on negotiations with a partner.

Currently, more and more often you can find English words,
expressions or abbreviations in the speech of young people. Video
games, videos of popular video bloggers, various sites and
applications, and much more - all this is usually in English.

Certain words or phrases that have already become inseparable from

speech, one way or another, make up a certain teenage culture. This
is not surprising, because the speech contains the so-called
Anglicisms or borrowing - this is one of the sources of replenishment
of the lexical structure. They reflect the facts of ethnic, social, cultural
and economic interactions between representatives of different
language groups. This phenomenon is explained by a number of
reasons: the need for the name of new objects and phenomena; lack
of equivalents in Russian; lack of the most accurate name; way of
expression and much more.

Nowadays, the English language is gaining more and more popularity.

English is spoken almost all over the world. English is the language of
politics and economics, study and entertainment, travel and
business, music and art. We are surrounded by English everywhere, it
has penetrated tightly into our daily lives. One has only to go out into
the street: in a large metropolis or a small district center, as you see
the inscriptions in English. This is the names of companies, firms and
organizations, advertisements, courses and more. On the doors of
shops and companies, plates indicating that “open” or “closed” are in
English. In case you know English, you have the opportunity to read
and understand them. Therefore, no educated person will argue with
the fact that knowledge of the English language is now simply
necessary. But ignorance of the English language can put in a
deadlock or difficult situation.
