Article Title- The Effects of e-Business on Supply Management

The effect of e- business on supply management is appropriate/ related to the


course currently we learnt. Because as well learned from chapter one under the
need for supply chain management there are five benefits that are (1) reduce
operational cost (2) improved flow of supply (3) compelling bottom line benefits
to enterprise (4) reduction of delays in distribution (5) increase customer
satisfaction.

By using e- business the supply chain participant yet the above benefiters
easily than other that are not using e- business.

The literature includes all introduction, literature review, methodology, result,


discussion, conclusion, reference. Because the literature answer those question
rising from each research part from introduction to conclusion the question are
What is the problem? Whose work did I refer to? How did I solve the problem?
What did I find out? What does it mean? .The Author clearly discussing the
relevant primary research literature and summarizing our current
understanding about e-business and clearly defined that aim of the research
by question.

The article address problem of significant concern to managers related to our


current course topic by answering those question

- What are the changes caused by e-business in the supply management


- Does e- business change the bargaining position i- the supply
management
- Does e- business change the competitive position i- supply net work etc.

The article have six hypothesis that are (1) aiming at the right goal (2) focusing
on value proposition (3) having a distinctive value chain caring out different
activities (4) engaging in strategy trade off (5) ensuring fit (6) maintaining
continuity in terms of strategic direction i- order to ensure continuous in
prevent.

The hypothesis is logically derived from the theory the hypothesis is borrowed
from poster (2001) theory. The author is not applied statistical techniques to
test each hypothesis but he concludes the hypothesis by qualitative method.

Author is not draw correct conclusion from the test of hypothesis because the
hypotenuses is mentioned in the above are five but he conclude by two main
target at e- business in the supply management among the finish firms
surveyed.

The author discuss the result of statistical data by using graph by comparing
the mean of cost and time saving process development and change in business
and remarkable change.

Based on statistical data the discussion supported by statistical analysis for


example the result of this research target describes by using mean that are

- Saving in cost and time (4.21 mean)


- Process development and business change (4.05 mean) mean is one of
statistical analysis method.

The managerial implication of e- business effect not only the a bargaining


position and power but also competitive position of company according to
Proter (2001) the internet reduce differences among competitors wildness, the
geographic market and lower variable cost. Because of this the manager loads
becoming decrease.

This research make very significant contribution to my current course topics


because at the time of read this article. I get great knowledge by relating e-
business with supply chain- management and also I learned from this article
the benefits of e- business for supply chain management that are
- E-business is important enables to drive supply chain integration
- Business can use the internet to gain global visibility across their
extended net work of trading partners
- From customer demand to response and shortage
