Erin Ponsonby to release Single

Erin Ponsonby is due to premier her new single, Love Like The Movies, on 27th
March 2020, through Interchord Records, produced by Mark Tindal from Open Eyes
Productions. This will be available to stream on SoundCloud and YouTube. After her
previous single Want Me Too was released in 2017, Erin left us craving more. Erin
has been gigging for the past few years where she firstly supported Into The Ark in
2015 on their UK tour with DF Concerts. Since then she has played in famous
Glasgow venues such as, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and The Barrowlands and has
shared the stage with Scottish song-writing legends Hue and Cry.

Love Like The Movies discusses the idea of craving a romantic relationship like we
see in the movies, and how Erin feels as if in today’s society chivalry and romance is
disappearing.

Erin likes to tell stories in her music, like Love Like The Movies, which stems from
her love of country music, where storytelling is the main theme of their lyrics. Love
Like The Movies was originally written as a country song but as it developed
acquired more Pop features.

Love Like The Movies is best described as an upbeat and fun Acoustic Pop song,
with a country twist and has been compared to early Taylor Swift. Erin began
singing at a young age when she realised, she had a talent for singing, which led to
her teaching herself guitar. Erin uses music as an outlet to write about her personal
experience through love, lust and heartbreak, and this is shown perfectly through
Love Like The Movies.

A soft country style guitar melody is used throughout Love Like The Movies, which
compliments her voice and allows the euphonious vocal to take the spotlight that it
deserves. The layers of vocals, guitar and drums really adds to the country feel this
song portrays.

This is just the beginning of Erin Ponsonby and 2020 is going to be her year.

Live Performances

Although Erin would be touring extensively all over the UK in 2020, all shows have
been suspended due to COVID-19. To which Erin comments, “This is terrible for all
musicians worldwide and has had a dramatic impact on the music industry
especially with live shows, getting out music out there, and has resulted in little or no
income. I hope to be playing shows again soon.”
