 QUESTION?

Which set of earplugs or sound

cancelling muffs work best at keeping
out noise?
HYPOTHESIS

My Hypothesis is that
the wax waterproof
earplugs will keep the
sound out the best. I
believe that they will all
keep out the sound of the
whispering, but that
when it comes to yelling
none will keep the
sound out all together.
Materials
4 different types of
earplugs and a pair of noise
cancelling
muffs(purchased for my
young son who hates loud
noises)
My Husband and son
Any friend or family member

A Guitar
and Amp
 Procedure

1 Obtain different types or earplugs. As many as you would like to test

2 Place the 1st set of earplugs in your ears

Have your family member/Friend whisper and Record how much

3 you can hear

Have them talk in their normal voice and record on your paper how
4 much you can hear

Have your friend/family member yell and record how much you can
5 hear
Now they will turn a stereo up as loud as it can go (guitar & amp in
6 my case) and record how much of the music you can hear

7 Repeat steps 2-6 for the rest of the earplugs/muffs

8 Analyze your collected data to determine which worked the best
