We are running a manufacturing company of hand sanitizer known as “Dettol hand sanitizer”.

In
the current situation of Corona pandemic, business is facing a lot of hurdles including shortage of
raw materials, low productivity, losses, and lack of workforce leading to the downfall of
business/company. “Dettol” being a trusted company, of producing hygiene related products, by
the customers all over country and around the world, has to meet the demands of customers in
market but situation has become worsen. In the meantime, the rising problem to be considered is
that, the demand of hand sanitizers has been increased but the supply has become short because
the government has locked down everything across the country as a precautionary measure
which is ultimately leading to the shortage of raw material needed for the preparation of our
products i.e. sanitizers. Hence, productivity has been declined. Also, workforce is not coming for
work because of the virus and government has issued orders for the public to stay at home. This
decrease in production of products is leading business to the downfall. Sudden shortage of
sanitizers in the markets is also because when the corona started and became hype, people
bought stock of sanitizers leaving none for others. Thus, problem to be focused now is to
increase the production level and to meet the demand. Another problem is that, people have
started making sanitizers at their homes with local ingredients which may lead to skin damage or
burns. We need to make them aware and stop taking risks for their lives. So along with
increasing out production to meet demand, we need to create more public awareness so that they
must use Dettol sanitizers ultimately creating an increase in our business’s sales. Hence
production level and sales, both should increase.

So we are planning have some strategies so that we can meet demand along with increased
number of sales as well as put the business/company back to progress. We will review our
existing workflow so that if we need to change or reconsider something. Then the number of
operators will be focused i.e. are there enough workers, equipment and techniques to run the
input-output process? Or if there are any extra, remove them to let production level run smoothly
and effectively. We will make employee follow strict deadlines in a mannered way instead of
pressurizing. Also, make sure that everything is well-organized and teamwork among workers
will be promoted. Sales will be increased by creating awareness in the rural areas as well so that
they should purchase our product for hygiene related concerns and as urban areas are already
well-known of sanitizers and using them.
To implement our plans, we will direct and motivate our workers. We will give commissions to
the workers who will produce more so that keeping them motivated and directed towards the
production increment goal to meet demand. Also, we will send our teams to rural areas for
awareness and sales concern. Furthermore we’ll use media and influencers for sales increment in
urban areas by word of mouth while saving some expense.

Afterwards, all this performance will be measured by controlling all these things. We will get the
performance feedback from urban areas through our application which will be just one click
away from customers. Teams will be sent to rural areas to get the feedback through surveys and
oral responses. Apart from this, application can be used in both rural and urban areas for
feedback to measure performance as per their ease. At the end, actual performance of the
business/company will be compared with the planned one to know the real results whether
supply and production level is meeting the demand or not as well as sales are increased
generating profit or not.
