Instructions

1) Only use spinners, check boxes or option boxes for inputs.

2) Some functions will not be compatable with Excel prior to 2007.
3) When inputs result in an error, cells will highlight red.
4) Normally these files would be password protected to prevent the accidental changing of cells and formu
supply un-locked.

The primary learning outcomes are:

Sectorial Scans
a)    Sectorial scans typically provide additional coverage over linear scans.
b)    Probes with as little as 16 elements are suitable for generating sectorial scans.
Linear Scans
a)    Improved detection where expected discontinuity orientation is known.
b)    Limited usefulness unless numerous apertures utilized (IE: probes with a high number of elements (60
Beam Spread
a)    Beam spread effects PAUT as equally as Conventional Ultrasonics. It is important to always consider th
of an indicated signal may very significantly from actual.
Wedge/Beam Limitations
a)    On many wedges the use of high angles (> 70°) with apertures towards the end of the probe, often resu
internal reflections within the wedge.
Groups
a)    The use of multiple groups allows for increased coverage with a single pass of the probe.
