Music Lesson Plan

Title: Que llueva Grade Level: Kinder


Source: Silver Burdett Making Music (page 80-81)
Materials needed:
None

Procedure:

A.S: Who likes the rain? What is the sound that rain makes? What activities can
you do when is raining? How do you know when is going to rain?

1. First, make sure the students are on the carpet sitting down
2. Introduce the song by repeating each line/phrase
3. Put all phrases together and sing together
4. Once students know the song, ask them to add movement to the rain
phrase
5. Introduce the next movements of each phrases one by one
6. Practice the song with the movements included piece by piece and
then all together
7. Try doing the song faster to challenge their memorizations

Closure:What did we learn about phrases? How did we show the phrases in the
song? What was your favorite movement of the song? What was your favorite
phrase of the song?
Educational Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will have learned . . .
How music is broken into phrases and how to demonstrate that using movements within a song.
