EXT: WOODLAND PATHWAY. – EVENING (DUSK).

NARRATOR:
Today we’re going on a journey into the undergrowth of a woodland
paradise where the Plasmodial Slime Molds flourish.

Starts by trailing along a woodland path that twists and turns off
into the distance viewing the surroundings while moving along the
path. View point gets closer to the ground and the starts to
navigate through the foliage to get to the FEEDING PLASMODIUM.

NARRATOR:
Here we have a formation of a single-celled, multinucleate mass that
can move together across surfaces, this is known as a Feeding
Plasmodium.

Feeding Plasmodium is curled up and pulsing below an elevated log.

Feeding Plasmodium starts to move and text is revealed showing what
is spelled out on the stretched body of the Feeding Plasmodium.

NARRATOR:
As the Feeding Plasmodium continues to move; it travels across
bacteria and other small fungi; contributing to the decomposition of
dead plant matter.

As the Feeding Plasmodium continues to move it travels across

bacteria and other small fungi, pulsing as it consumes bacteria and
small fungi that decreases in size while the Feeding Plasmodium
grows and continues to moves on.
CUT TO.
NARRATOR:
The Plasmodial Slime Mold is now developing into a Matured
Plasmodium, where it is now at the height of its life.

Slime mold is now maturing into a MATURED PLASMODIUM, where focus is

drawn to the text spelled out in the new slime mold body - Matured
Plasmodium - that will then begin trailing off to the to climb on
top of the log feeding on lichen, other fungus and bacteria
available.

NARRATOR:
At this stage the Mature Plasmodium looks to find a sustainable food
source. If conditions are not favorable the mold settles so it can
start to form the Sporangia, also known as a Fruiting Body; where
through meiosis it can produce haploid spores ready for germination.

Matured Plasmodium then begins to pulse again and begins to shrink

so that it can form the SPORANGIA and FRUITING BODY of the slime
mold so it can start to reproduce. Details in the Fruiting Body and
Sporangia will be seen sprawled out and curled along the log.
The Fruiting Body then begin pulsating and slowly growing bigger on
top of the log, getting ready to release the SPORES into the
environment.
NARRATOR:
The Spores are then released into the environment and land in a
place with sustainable food sources.

Spores are released and the Fruiting Body withers and wilts as the
Spores go off bouncing and flying about through the air. Spores are
getting tossed about as they travel and then crashing down to new
destination on the woodland path.
NARRATOR:
If environment is suitable Spores will germinate to form amoeboid
cells or flagellated haploid cells that can then aggregate together
to create diploid zygote slime mold.

FADING IN AND OUT FROM BLACK TO SCENE X2.

NARRATOR:
Once germinated the zygotes will go through mitosis and becomes a
Feeding Plasmodium and the cycle starts again.

Spores will then aggregate together in new location and start to

from FLAGELLATED CELLS that then roll around each other and start to
form a blob of nuclei that will then transition back into a feeding
plasmodium.
NARRATOR:
So, there you have it, the Life Cycle of a Plasmodial Slime Mold!

FADE OUT.
