Configuring Huawei Quidway S3900

For example, take the switch Huawei Quidway S3928P-


EI, the settings are essentially suitable for the entire
Huawei Quidway S3900 series, but may di�er slightly
depending on the �rmware version. If something fails to

2 CPU type: BCM4704
3 CPU Clock Speed: 200MHz
4 BUS Clock Speed: 33MHz
5 Memory Size: 64MB

Let’s see the current con�guration with the command:

1 display current-configuration

To enter the con�guration mode, type:

1 system-view

If desired, we specify the name of the switch:

1 sysname NAME

Let’s add vlan for management:

1 vlan 207
2 description Management
3 quit
4 management-vlan 207
Add vlan for users:

1 vlan 226
2 description Users
3 quit

Let’s add an interface in a managed vlan:

1 interface Vlan-interface 207


2 ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0
3 quit

Add a default route:

1 ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1

Let’s con�gure the �rst SFP port as UPLINK:

1 interface GigabitEthernet 1/1/1


2 port link-type trunk
3 port trunk permit vlan 207 226
4 quit

Activate the loop protection function:

1 loopback-detect enable
2 loopback-detection interval-time 300

We will con�gure the ports for the users, specify the


necessary vlan and port type, con�gure loopback-detect
protection, limit the broadcast tra�c to 30 pps:

Let’s specify the NTP server for time synchronization:

1 ntp-service unicast-server 192.168.1.1 source-i

Set up SNMP (for example, public with read access):

1 snmp-agent
2 snmp-agent sys-info version v2c
3 snmp community read public
When all con�gured to go into the initial mode, save the
con�guration and specify that it is bootable:

1 quit
2 save config.cfg
3 startup saved-configuration config.cfg

Let’s restart the switch:

1 reboot

To view the MAC address table, use the command:

1 display mac-address
