Worked examples:
Note: When we say “solve” and equation we mean find a value for the letters (unknowns) so
that if the value replaces the letter then the LHS = RHS of the equations.
We will do this by manipulating the equation so that we have only the unknown on one side
of the equations.

E.g. If we say “Solve for x if x + 2 = 7” then we should be able to see that 5 + 2 = 7

therefore our solution will be x = 5.

Solve for x in the following.
