DataNet2 utilises the technological advances of Rich Internet Applications and the Web 2.0 environment to bring an intuitive and cost-effective
solution to upstream reporting. The DataNet2 product lines are able to share data with any WITSML-compliant service, building much of the DDR
and DGR directly from WITSML sources thus creating a valuable time saving at the rig. Each of the DataNet2 reporting products can be used as a
standalone service or in conjunction with the others to provide an over-arching reporting system. None of the IDS products require dongles or a
charge per seat - an internet browser and log-on details are all that is required.

About IDS and DataNet
Independent Data Services (IDS) opened for business in 1995 with the PC-based ‘Drilling
Data Package’. In September 1999, the entire system was re-written for the web, thus
IDS 'DataNet' was born, built from the ground up to harness the global data gathering
and distribution capabilities of a web-based reporting service to the search and retrieval
powers of an SQL database. In 2007, the system was re-written around the ‘Rich
Internet Applications’ protocol of Web 2.0 and the WITSML data structure. The first
DataNet2 services were delivered in June 2008.
A Client-Centered Service
IDS DataNet2 is the only system to offer unlimited users to its clients; we mean it: no
dongles, no 'charge-per-seat'. Some of our larger clients have more than 200 registered
users with access and editing rights tailored to the individual’s level of authority.
A Cost Effective Service
IDS DataNet2 is delivered across the web to unlimited users. Implementation and
roll-out is as simple as opening a web browser and our roll-out times – even to
multi-asset global operators – are very short. Moreover, our training is delivered across
the web using web-meeting tools and VOIP voice support.
A Collaborative Service
IDS DataNet2 is a truly collaborative environment. Task delimited password access at the
rig allows service hands to directly enter data into the system for QC by operator
personnel while our built-in document manager allows town and rig users to share and
view all document types. At the storage level, all our product modules share a common
database, eliminating both duplications and discrepancies during data entry.
A Connected Service
Our latest generation of reporting services is WITSML-powered. Coupled with proprietary
import tools, we can share data and services with many real-time and off-line systems,
eliminating the need for tedious data entry and, at a stroke, saving a good 30 minutes or
more of NPT normally spent entering daily data at the rig. A productivity gain from a
reporting system…. Whatever next?
A Scalable Service
What's the program? A couple of one-off commitment wells in the back of beyond or a
five year multi-string development? Whatever is needed, IDS can offer either a standard
or a customised reporting solution. Our new campaign/well/wellbore/operation model
accurately tracks the full well life cycle right through to abandonment. A single string
post-hole or an ERD multi-lateral, IDS DataNet2 can handle it.
A Supported Service
We are a service company, not a software house. A reporting system without the right
level of back-up and support is of no value to a nightman struggling with a
communication problem at 5 a.m. nor to a drilling engineer back in town with an
immediate need for a custom query. We at IDS rightly pride ourselves on our 24/7
technical support which is widely regarded as second to none in this industry.

DrillNet Drilling Reporting Services
DrillNet is the first on-line, WITSML-powered drilling reporting service to offer an intuitive user
interface supported by powerful analysis/reporting tools and a fully integrated file manager. A
powerful data analyser and built-in search engine means data and documents can be instantly
recovered and analysed.
GeoNet Geological & Wireline Reporting Services
GeoNet provides the wellsite and town-based geologists with detailed lithology, gas, shows and
Wireline/MWD/LWD reporting. Full MDT and pressure reporting is also available. Fully
integrated with DrillNet, in locations where both services are used more than 50% of the DGR
can be built directly from the DrillNet database and WITSML sources.
ProNet Completions & Well-Intervention Reporting Services
ProNet’s established site-reporting services are dynamically linked to a sophisticated and
well-proven CSD (’Completions String Design’) drawing package.
CostNet AFE & Cost Reporting Services
The CostNet daily cost reporting service has the capacity to handle unlimited main and
supplementary AFE's and multiple currencies at the line item level. Up to six linked account
codes may be used for each line item while on screen drag-and-drop means building an AFE or
a cost sheet has never been easier.
SafeNet HSE & Lessons Learned
Comprehensive reporting of every aspect of the operational HSE environment including
tracking of STOP cards, spills, accidents/incidents etc. A sophisticated ‘Lessons Learned/
Unwanted Events’ package captures valuable knowledge that would otherwise be wasted.
Supply Chain Management
StockNet Inventory Management & Asset-Tracking for Operators
StockNet seamlessly tracks the movement of booked assets and rental tools from the vendor's
warehouse to their usage at the well-site or return to source. Well Equipment Lists form
material transfers which automatically populate inventory registers on the rig. While a simple
‘document wizard’ allows users to instantly build manifests, POs, load-out lists etc.
TrackNet Customised Equipment Tracking for Service Companies
TrackNet allows total logistical planning with the ability to effectively and accurately forecast
what is needed, where and when. A simple ‘document wizard’ allows users to instantly build

at the line item level.
Data Visualisation & Analysis
VisNet Data Visualisation & Analysis Services
A simple GIS UI allows users to zoom and select wells quickly from multiple locations against
which a number of ‘canned’ time/depth/cost queries can be run. The new advanced data
analyser allows the user to build dynamic queries on any table or collection of fields in the
database.
