GRAMMAR EXPLANATION

IN, ON AND AT ARE USED TO TALK ABOUT PLACES AND TIME. PLACEMENT PREPOSITIONS
We use IN with enclosed spaces and limited areas
Example: There is a woman IN the phone box.
rooms, buildings, towns, parks, countries, continents (EN)
- in my pocket There are people OUTSIDE the cinema.
- in her car
(FUERA DE)
- in Germany
The people are ON the pavement.
We use ON with surfaces and lines
Example: (SOBRE)
walls, floors, shelves, paths, coasts, There is a clock ABOVE the cinema entrance.
- On the equator (POR ENCIMA DE)
- On the sea The cinema entrance is UNDER the clock.
- On the grass (DEBAJO DE)
- On the line
The bank is NEXT TO/BESIDE the cinema.
- On the third floor
(AL LADO DE)
- We use AT with a specific point or location or with a building,
when we mean either inside or outside The phone box is OPPOSITE the cinema.
Example: At the bus stop (EN FRENTE DE)
The bank is BETWEEN the cinema and the café.
- Also, we use it as a TIME preposition to talk about time (ENTRE)
Example: There is a hill BEHIND the town.
-At 9 o’clock.

The car is IN FRONT of the bank.
Example: (EN FRENTE DE)
A: Let’s meet at the cinema.
B: OK. Shall we meet at 7pm?
